Alistair Johnston has kitted out his brothers in Celtic shirts with one of them, Malcolm, on the books of New York City FC.

The Canadian internationalist has bought fully into Celtic, adapting to life in Scotland in next to no time as he picked up all three domestic medals in his first six months with the club.

Canada and North America has rarely been a market that Celtic have scouted in but they found a gem when Johnston was bought from Montreal to take up the task of replacing Josip Juranovic.

The 24-year-old has embraced the physical nature of the Scottish game, and, as The Sun reports, has his two brothers on message and kitted out:

Malcolm and Declan Johnston have been spotted wearing the Celtic third shirt and famous green and white home shirt in a photo posted to Alistair’s Instagram, both with the Johnston name and number on the back.

Malcolm, 22, was picked by New York City FC in the 2023 MLS Superdraft after an impressive college career with Maryland Terrapins, whom he captained from his second season onward.

Johnston faces a punishing schedule this season as he mixes Celtic with his international commitments with Canada in action on August, September, October and November.

While most attention was on Ange Postecoglou’s signings from the J-League the impact of Johnston has been just as noticeable at right-back where he has looked just as comfortable in attack as in his core job of defending.
