Within days of Liam Shaw moving to Wigan Athletic,  Osaze Urhoghide has quit Celtic for French side Amiens.

While the Shaw deal is just a season long loan Urhoghide has signed a three year contract to sever his ties with Celtic.

The two former Sheffield Wednesday players joined Celtic in the summer of 2021 with the Yorkshire side compensated with a development fee.

Very quickly Ange Postecoglou realised that neither was suitable for the way that he wanted Celtic to play, against Real Betis at the start of December they both started their only competitive game for the club before being sent out on loan as the new manager put his own stamp on the side.

Urhoghide seemed to do well during two spells with the Belgian side but the Dutchman has moved across the border to France to find a permanent home to pick up his career.

Amiens SC is happy to announce the arrival of Osaze URHOGHIDE for the next 3 seasons!

At the age of 23, Osaze Urhoghide began his professional career with club AFC Wimbledon, before joining Sheffield Wednesday in 2019.

Urhoghide subsequently joined Celtic Glasgow on July 1, 2021, signing a four-year contract with the Scottish giants. Stepping onto the lawn of the prestigious Celtic Park, he makes his debut for the club in a UEFA Europa League game against Real Betis on December 9, 2021.

Central defender, Urhoghide joins Amiens SC to strengthen the Amiens rearguard.

Amiens SC is delighted to welcome Osaze Urhoghide to its ranks for the next 3 seasons wishing him full success in this new chapter of his career.

Urhoghide and Shaw were left out of Celtic’s training camp in the Algarve, with solutions found for the former Sheffield Wednesday duo the only big hitters remaining at the club and out of first team contention are Albian Ajeti, Ismaila Soro and James McCarthy.

Getting rid of the deadwood – a good policy – now just the rest away….

It’ll be interesting to see the final squad on the final transfer day !

nearly every club has a large number of players and some might not get picked a lot but for another celtic site to call this young man a flop is a disgrace. that headline is what we expect from the sevco media.

Editor: On this site you will get honesty. Other sites will tell you about starlets and everyone being highly regarded only for them to disappear without trace. A signing lined up by the previous Recruitment Team (CEO).

      Well,l agree with Scouse Bhoy.
This guy played one first team game for us in a European game where the opposition NEEDED to win to make sure they progressed in the tournament and he was arguably the man of the match in our victory.
Like many others who walk through Parkhead’s Gates he didn’t get a fair crack of the whip.
I thought there was definitely a player in there and Brendan Rodgers could have taken his game to another level but them’s the breaks.
I have to add that l agree with the editor’s view regarding Lawwell playing football manager though.
He’s been told by Dermot Desmond to keep da fuck out of BR’s way…..OR ELSE !!!
and you can take that to the bank.
