Anthony Joseph has blamed paperwork for the delays in Celtic announcing the signings of Yang Hyun-jun and Kwon Hyeok-kyu.

At the weekend Gangwon and Buson Ipark weren’t slow to announce the deals which took players from the K-League to Scotland and two months away from playing in the Champions League.

Strangely there has been no word from Celtic despite the obvious football and PR value in announcing the two arrivals.

In January Celtic completed the signing of Oh Hyeon-gyu from Suwon Samung which should have laid down the process for signing players from  South Korea.

Yang has been pictured at Seoul Airport preparing to board a flight to London but so far all of the comment has come from the Korean end, prompted by announcements from both clubs.

While that has been going on Brendan Rodgers has been working with his players, preparing them for two games in Japan.

The Irishman didn’t have any new signings involved in the 6-4 defeat from Yokohama F Marinos with Olid Thiago Holm believed to be with the squad while Marco Tilio remains in Glasgow for treatment on an injury that he had before signing.

Still no sign of that big money signing I think the piss is being taken here, and we are laughing at sevco for £1 and £2 million signings.

  • Tony B says:

I hope we got a discount for Tilio coming pre injured.

  • John Copeland says:

Maybe Celtic should sign mostly guys who have become free to buy after running down their contracts at various clubs ! Rather than spending decent money on new recruits with proven quality , do it the cheap way .! How can it go wrong ? I mean, that’s the way the Rangers have attempted their business and every conceivable media outlet have nothing but praise for the clumpany and already are a cinch (sorry ) to lift the pre season silverware !
