Micky Beale us stepping up his efforts to shift the deadwood that he inherited from Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Steven Gerrard.

At the start of the week Antonio Colak joined Italian Second Division side Parma for an undisclosed fee with Scott Wright in Turkey to discuss terms with newly promoted Pendikspor.

Beale has already moved on most of last season’s goalscorers with Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Scott Arfield and Malik Tillman walking away but has further work to do to trim the wage bill.

Tucked away at the end of a story about a new bid going in for Danilo of Feyenoord, The Sun reports:

Glen Kamara and Rabbi Matondo are both likely to leave the club, with Gers also willing to listen to offers for Ianis Hagi.

Matondo was a star signing last summer, accompanied by claims that he was faster than Usain Bolt, unfortunately the famous Jamaican has more footballing ability than Van Bronckhorst’s £3m signing.

Hagi also cost £3m whenhe signed from Genk in the summer of 2020, with little sign of interest in the players it is likely that they will have to go out on loan with Bayern Munich terms applied to the deals.

Don’t forget the £15 million coming in for the sale Lunstrum,Kamara and Baracic, says who, well wee Quark from Deep Space 9 aka Akex Rae.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Say what you want about The Sevco Huns, but they have taken the Ange mantra of ‘The early bird catches the worm’ and they have gotten their business done early…

Let’s just hope that successful (for Celtic) model doesn’t repeat itself on the field of play for Sevco the way it did for us –

Remember they are five players up with the cheat with the whistle, the two cheats with flags, and the two cheats with moniters without us dithering in the team strengthening division…

Perhaps I’m barking up the wrong tree here – but is it a coincidence or not that with Lawwell back in office at Parkhead like a bad smell that things are back to their sickening slow stalling ways…

That said it’s only the 21st of July but we do have an injury crisis – not good with the season kicking off in two weeks !

  • Scud Missile says:

LIEWELL is the stumbling block here with the biscuit tin mentality back at Parkhead.
Rumours circulating the net today that he and Rodgers have had another fallout with cash for players, hence the dragging of heels in the transfer market, with Rodgers on the brink of walking away AGAIN.

    • Justshatered says:

The thing is Lawwell should be nowhere near the day to day running of the club.
He should essentially attend Board meetings and nothing else and if he is then that is a failing of Nicholson.
Having said that I do not trust Lawwell at all and would put nothing past him.

  • Bob (original) says:

From the little I know about Danilo,

he actually does look like a player.

A regular starter with Feyenoord, and his careeer stats. show

an average of a goal every 2 games.

But, he joined Feyenoord only last summer – and on a free.

The c.£5M amount quoted by the SMSM seems a bit unlikely for sevco?

However, IF they can get Danilo, he could do a decent job for them.

…and if he is a quality player, then you would think another club would easily outbid

sevco? [Maybe CFC should bid £5.5M? 🙂 ]

    • Welsh Celt says:

There is a Lawwell involved in signings but not snr, it’s junior Lawwell & Nicholson arranging things. As BR said he wants to assess the squad before any decisions are made & that’s the delay.

We’ve got four in the door with others in the mix.

Beale needs signings as he’s lost 11 players. Ok so Danilo might be a player but Beale is bound to get one of seven right, the other six? Four frees, a loan & a few pounds spent on the others, not what the msm are reporting the fees to be, I read somewhere Cryil cost £1.5m with structured payments & not the £5m reported. Skint.FC pose no threat no matter how many duds they sign!

      HH?

  • Charlie Green says:

The Daily Sevco has just released photos of their team’s new strip which has blue and orange vertical stripes. It reminds me of the Swiss Guard’s uniform but I can’t remember who they are and exactly what their role is. ?

    • Magua says:

Formed in the 16th century Charlie, the job of the Swiss Guards, is to defend the person of the Pope. They are also responsible for the guarding of Vatican territory.

      Hail Hail.
