Celtic are discussing a fee of £150,000 with Plymouth Argyle for the transfer of Conor Hazard.
It is two and a half years since the keeper made the last of his seven first team appearances for Celtic with the club exercising an option in his 2021 contract to extend his deal by 12 months.
Despite his historic role in securing the Quadruple Treble Hazard hasn’t been given the opportunity to kick on in his Celtic career.
Last year he had a very productive time out on loan at HJK Helsinki but with a new season a month away being second choice keeper at Plymouth looks more appealing than competing with Tobi Oluwayemi to be fourth choice at Celtic.

The actual transfer fee is likely to be secondary in negotiations to the add-ons, as Celtic recently discovered with Jota there are ways to structure a fee that keeps you well covered.
A year ago Benfica fans were unhappy that Jota was leaving their club on the cheap for around £6m but after an outstanding season the Portuguese club are in line to double their initial fee for the winger.
Make it £100,000 – with 50% of future sell-on. He could go on to be the next Shay Given…. Who we freed!
Might be a Given, but might not be a Given but nonetheless that’s a very decent idea Captain… Get yersel to Parkhead to be Celtic’s transfer guru !
Joe retires, Benji goes down under, Hazard to Plymouth Argyle, Barkas to Greece and next season we’ve got Scotty Bain with no reserve. Couldn’t be, could it?
We have 2 reserves Tobi and the wee lad who saved the penalties in the cup final
