At the age of 36 Joe Hart’s record speaks for itself.

It isn’t often that you get to interview someone with 75 full international caps, a goalkeeper that has won every domestic honour in Scotland and England.

Hart has won all the domestic honours in Scotland and England but was asked today if he had something to prove in the final year of his Celtic contract.

Every player has to constantly prove themselves, justify their place but Hart resisted biting back when he was asked about proving himself at a media conference today.

This is the last year of your contract. Do you think you have something to prove to further that contract?

Something to prove? Difficult to say at this point in my career. I have been consistent… I have loved being here. I have loved not being in that part of that career where I am always trying to think of the chess moves in terms of if I do this I am going to get there and if I do that, I am going to get there.

I am loving what is going on. I am kind of on the other side of the business and politics of it. I am literally just here to do my best and things will work out as they go. I am just trying to enjoy playing for a club that has been so good for me.

For a couple of seasons Hart’s career looked to be in free-fall as he struggled to find a home after being in on the start of Manchester City’s success story.

Spells at Torino, West Ham, Burnley and Spurs where he found himself demoted to third choice suggested that his trophy winning days were over.

In Ange Postecoglou’s moment of need he turned to Hart to bring authority to the Celtic defence, five trophy wins later he seems as hungry as ever to add to his medal collection.
