Moussa Dembele’s is on the brink of signing for Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League to kill off, for now, hopes that he might be reunited with Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.

Five years ago the striker moved to Lyon after two dynamic seasons in the hoops, leading the line as Rodgers delivered back-to-back trebles.

At Lyon his goals sparked renewed interest from the EPL but it seems that the French side priced themselves out of a deal with Manchester United and Chelsea both reported to be keen.

A Lockdown loan to Atletico Madrid didn’t work out as either side had hoped with Dembele unable to produce any fireworks as the clock ticked down on his Lyon deal.

Sadly in terms of his career, at the age of 27 Moussa is about to managed by Steven Gerrard without the backing and support of his bibs and cones man Micky Beale.

With Dembele and Jordan Henderson joining Al Ettifaq it seems that Scott Wright’s bumper Saudi move will have to be delayed for now.

I think this one was always a bit of a long shot anyway…. Aside from his wage levels, I seem to recall he and Brendan had a bit of a disagreement leading to his departure? I think Dembele came back for a visit, walking along London Road in the hoops and everything, but only once Brendan had departed to give his life to Leicester. That said, could anything be less likely than the return of Brendan himself? If somebody had read the tea leaves last July and predicted he’d be back at Lennoxtown, you’d have called them barmy.

It would have been one hell of a marquee signing though!

I see BENNY Heevins is at it again with his Sunday article in his shit hole newspaper running our club into the ground again, just when are Celtic going keep these ARSEHOLES away from entering the ground.
His article today is about how vulnerable we are throughout the team from goalkeeper position to striker.
We have just completed a season full of success with all trophies coming to Parkhead and this DOPEY auld Jeremy Hunt is going on about VULNERABILITY.
Every weekend our club get slaughtered from this piss stained auld fart, but he never seems to have the bottle or courage to call out sevco and the SHAMBLES and SHENANIGANS at that klub.

  • Charlie Green says:

I remember Keevins criticizing Rangers years back on Radio Clyde and was threatened. Since then, he went out of his way to please them, and later Sevco, claiming in doing so, his job has paid for his two daughters’ weddings. Seemingly McCoist also got one of them a job.
I am not sure who he is “taking for a ride” but it isn’t the Celtic support.
