For years it was Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent that were getting lined up for bids from European giants, usually from Turkey.

Both men left Ibrox as free agents last month with the unlikely figure of Ridvan Yilmaz stepping up to fill the transfer void.

A year ago the young defender was signed from Besiktas as Giovanni van Bronckhorst strengthened the Europa League finalists.

Snapped up alongside Antonio Colak, Tom Lawrence, Ben Davies, Rabbi Matondo and John Souttar they certainly took the Tribute Act to a new level as their entry in the Champions League record book proved.

Yilmaz spent most of last season watching Borna Barisic fill the left back slot, then in the final month he excelled in the dead-rubbers that have filled Ibrox fans with hope all summer long.

With his Revolution stalling Micky Beale is desperate to get rid of the deadwood in his squad which stretches to about a dozen names.

Colak has been sold to Parma but there is virtually no movement elsewhere despite the very obvious FOR SALE signs put on Barisic, John Lundstram, Ianis Hagi, Fashion Sakala and Glen Kamara.

With league football starting across Europe in the next fortnight it looks Beale will have to send players out on loan to reduce the wage bill despite European giants hovering over most of his stars.

Stop it! I’ll do myself a mischief! The giants of European football are renowned for their scouting networks… which have now identified the substitutes bench at iBrox as an untapped source of rich talent…

The redtops just make me snigger with their heady brew of undiluted feelgood pish. As usual, I expect reality will bite once they have to start playing actual football matches again.

Lol European giants and big hitters Fenerbahce (I’m sure you can get cream of the doctor for that) was a club linked with a sevco player just the other day but I can’t remember what player.
Every time a player is leaving the zombie klub it’s always to a European giant,or any player arriving at the zombie klub has knocked back a European giant club to play for the zombie klub.
I’m quite surprised they never tried to snatch Mbappe from that Saudi club, but no doubt Mr Bean had a conversation on the phone with Mbappe which will mean a couple of million quid compensation for sevco with cut of the €300 million transfer fee, watch for Fraser Stanley Fletcher running with it as an EXCLUSIVE.

Well IF…IF…sevco do actually sign Danilo,

then they must get rid of some of the high earners to fund his wages.

It would be more prudent to get shot of the highly paid deadwood BEFORE

signing another high earner – obviously!

Just piling more pressure onto Beale to secure that CL Group Stage money.

Not only should referees declare their club allegiances but so should scottish sports journalists, it might mean a better standard and more objective writing rather than the continuous stream of blue tinted pi sh like this, are there absolutely no editors left in scottish media with a shred of pride in what their rags put out?
