Whatever Celtic do the Ibrox Tribute Act has to follow follow two steps behind.
If Celtic sell Moussa for £20m to Lyon then Alfredo Morelos has to be valued at Dembele Dollars.
If Celtic pick up a lucrative sell-on fee for Virgil van Dijk then Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo have got to top that.
Rolling quite a few of those theories together was the recent Malik Tillman Moonbeam where the Tribute Act were paid a cancellation fee as well as getting a sell on slice when Bayern Munich sell the midfielder to an EPL club.
With Jota joining Al Ittihad for £25m there is a need for at least one copycat deal from Ibrox with Steven Gerrard’s appointment as manager of Al Ettifaq helping to put the jigsaw together.
In January 2021 when the cash was running out at Ibrox Gerrard brought in Wright from Aberdeen with the fee due for Ross McCrorie written off.
Wright is the original squad man, last season he started five SPFL matches that no one really noticed, at the end of the season he was linked with Preston but the Championship side seem unwilling to match his Ibrox wages.
Putting together all of those pieces is transfer guru Fraser Fletcher, scouring forums and social media before dressing his stories up as coming from Football Insider sources, often Recruitment specialists and senior sources.
Breaking the exclusive news former BBC Scotland man was quickly reminded that his story originated from a Twitter account with 25 followers! #clicketyclick
As Aston Villa manager Gerrard never went near any of his Ibrox flops
? Exclusive: The same firm of representatives behind Jota’s transfer from Celtic to Al Ittihad are also working with Rangers Scott Wright, he has major interest in him from Saudi Arabia #RFC

Gerrard signed the winger from Aberdeen in 2021 and wants to reunite with the winger who’s struggling for game time in Glasgow.

It kinda makes sense as Jota will need a full time bag carrier / goffer now he is in the big bucks league and Wright fits the bill nicely …..so don’t be too hard on the trainee dogsbody !
The Saudis are famed for their race horses not donkeys.
Belter!
Even in the extremely unlikely event that there was any interest from Gerrard in this wonky donkey, the valuation of him would be closer to 25p than 25m… still, an unconvincing squirrel on a bad news day is better than nothing, I suppose. I just doubt anyone who had ever seen him play would be fooled by that. This duds next club is more likely to be Forfar Athletic than Al Ettifaq!
Well that’s just the start of it.
Gerrard a manager in KSA = lots of ‘interest’ in sevco players,
for megamoney of course.
Interest generated only in the heads of Jackson, Jack and all the other churnalists,
or simply copied/pasted from their Ibrox PR masters. 🙂
I looked into “Football Insider” quite some time ago. It tries LF to hide its origins but it’s more-or-less an online branch of the Daily Rancid as is, I ‘understand’ (sources told me in my sleep), Football Scotland and the other Football ‘this’n’thats’. Part of the uber hun Reach group!
Joe, please, don’t supply oxygen to failing ‘organs’!
“….don’t supply oxygen to failing organs”.
But,but the Banter years must stay open.
