Liam Scales was pictured with the Celtic squad that flew out to Portugal on Sunday for pre-season training but not all of last season’s loan bhoys were included in the gallery from SNS.

Albian Ajeti and Ismaila Soro weren’t pictured at the airport, they may be included in the squad but it wouldn’t be a surprise of Brendan Rodgers has already decided to cut those two out of any plans for the season ahead.

Loans at Sturm Graz and Arouca failed to produce anything spectacular with Ajeti and Soro now into the final year of their Celtic deals.

Vasilis Barkas ad his contract terminated but the keeper appears to have a few offers from Turkey to consider as he looks to get his career back on track.

Scales had a mixed season at Aberdeen, signing off on a high by helping the Dons finish third in the SPFL with Cameron Carter-Vickers rehab perhaps giving the Irish defender a chance to impress in pre-season matches.

Mikey Johnston was pictured at the airport but there was no sign of Liam Shaw or Osaze Urhoghide who were both given four year contracts when they joined as free agents from Sheffield Wednesday in the 2021 close season.

Further details of the squad should be available on Monday when Celtic TV provide coverage from Portugal, CLICK HERE for the SNS gallery.

Aberdeen are a better team than Hearts. They just proved it. Well done Liam!

Every time I see the loan duds getting mentioned it just reminds me of what an utter toolbag Lawweli senior is. He signed every one of them, and cost the club millions. He needs chased from the club.
