Micky Beale’s Revolution has been put on hold until he manages to move on some of his deadwood.

About £8m has been spent on Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers to compliment three free agents plus Abdallah Sima coming in on loan from Brighton.

Talks to sign Jose Cifuentes for $1m from Los Angeles have dragged on for over a month with The Sun reporting that spending has been put on hold.

Rather than spell out the reality the story leads with selling Antonio Colak but after the disastrous deals for Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo there is little interest in signing damaged goods from Ibrox.

The Sun admits:

WERDER BREMEN head a Bundesliga pack eyeing a £2million move for Rangers striker Antonio Colak.

Sunsport understands Michael Beale has been told he needs to offload at least three big names to help fund the rest of his summer rebuild.

Colak was signed last July for £2m from PAOK in a disastrous summer that saw another £12m spent on Rabbi Matondo, Ben Davies and Ridvan Yilmaz.

Last season the Colak scored more goals than the combined haul of Lammers, Dessers and Sima.

Getting back half of the fees paid out on those flops would be something of a result for Beale with Besiktas reported to be offering £2.1m for Glen Kamara.

Others like Scott Wright, Ianis Hagi, Kemar Roofe and Borna Barisic might attract token fees but after failing miserably last season there will be no stampede of offers which leaves Beale on hold just four weeks before he goes into the Third Qualifying Round for the Champions League, his first time in charge of a European tie.

With no Sporting Director since Ross Wilson walked away Beale has taken on the job of managing all transfer business, in and out-bound.

Even if you accepted that £8M as being anywhere near accurate,

and if the 2 transfers are being paid up in the typical 40/30/30 schedule,

then sevco has only parted with c.£3.2M cash so far this transfer window.

Beale is probably stuck with most of the players he wants to move on.

It’s all or nothing for these muppets this season. If there’s no champions league or league win get ready for another insolvency event. This time it’ll be permanent.

  • Scouse bhoy says:

140 years of history ended it broke their hearts to report that fact thats permanent enough .
