Jonny McFarlane has tonight be cast as the bear bearing bad news for his feelow bares.

With Cyriel Dessers taking Micky Beale’s summer spending spree through the £8m mark the hunt is on for the next recruit for this summer’s Revolution.

Since the end of last season Jose Cifuentes of Los Angeles FC has been flagged up as a likely signing with the bonus of having previously been linked with a move to Celtic.

End international midfielder from Ecuador is out of contract in December with Los Angeles just requiring a token fee to transfer his registration to Ibrox.

The Sun claimed that a deal was just hours away but answering a message from his Ibrox masters McFarlane poured cold water on the Cifuentes deal.

With £8m committed in the deals for Sam Lammers and Dessers it now seems like the spending has been halted until Beale gets rid of some of the deadwood that is draining the wage bill.

So far the only offer to come in is from Besiktas to take Glen Kamara on a season long loan.

So Cifuentes is a free agent in December, but sevco want him now.
LAFC want a fee, but sevco don’t want to pay anything?
LAFC bought him in 2020 for only c.£80K.
This season he has been a sub for half the games, so more a squad player?
The SMSM is quoting LAFC want £1.2M…?
    Don’t think so.
