Alex Rae believes that Kemar Roofe is one of the best strikers in Scotland.

Last season the former Leeds striker made six appearances, after a brief outing at Livingston in February his season was over with reports of a hip injury.

In three seasons at Ibrox Roofe has started 27 SPFL matches with no sign of talks being held to provide the 30-year-old with an extended contract.

At this time of the year everything in the Ibrox garden is rosy with the recently sacked Reading Number 2 saying exactly what the Gullible & Deluded like to hear.

Picking up on an interview with a gambling website the Daily Record reports Rae saying:

You’d imagine Dessers will be the No9 and then Lammers could be close to him and Sima can play either side. Dessers can score with both feet and lays the ball off well so I think he can be a real focal point. And then you’ve got Kemar Roofe who, when fit, I think is easily one of the best strikers in the league. He’s crafty and puts in a very good shift.

In the middle of the park you’ve got Cantwell who can play in the attacking role and as things stand you’ve got Nico Raskin and Ryan Jack holding but we expect that Jose Cifuentes is coming and, of course, John Lundstram is there too. You’ve also got Tom Lawrence to come back as well so there is great strength now and that was what was missing.

It seems that Rae has forgotten all about Romanian starlet Ianis Hagi.

Last year he was saying much the same about Antonio Colak, Tom Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo, Ben Davies, John Souttar and Ridvan Yilmaz.

You’d think that a top priority for Beale with any player,

is their availability: he can’t have injury prone players in a depleted squad.

He needs his first choice players to be ever present starters,

because he won’t have decent back up, in a budget squad.

And hope the above photo haunts Roofe for the rest of his puff:

absolutely disgraceful excuse for a football player.

  • Captain Swing says:

Just because you desperately want something to happen doesn’t make it any more likely to. In most other places a former professional football player who has been asked their opinion on current matters at their previous club would tend to give an honest appraisal with maybe a bit of a slant or bias on it. What Rae does is offer his fervent hopes, dreams and wishes for the current iBrox operation rather than a genuine appraisal. You would be forgiven for thinking he was describing a team which has just won the champions league, rather than an impecunious club on UEFAs FSR watchlist, with an inexperienced and thus far unsuccessful head coach rummaging around europe’s bargain basements and the English free transfer market

My favourite line in there – and there are plenty to choose from, let’s face it – is the one about Dessers being able to score with both feet…. are we to conclude that for the last few years he has simply opted not to, then?

A see uncle fester has raised his mug above the parapit again,, didn’t hear much fae the gurney faced lil tottie while we wer running away with a treble,, as for his take on the skills of these players he should look at their stats,, says it all

    • Bob (original) says:

      That’s a good point about a player’s stats.

Beale is hoping to uncover underpriced, overlooked gems for his squad.

The Ibrox PR, the SMSM – and Beale himself – can talk up a free / cheap player

as the next Messi / Ronaldo, etc.

But, now it is so easy for the average punter to check on a UK or foreign player’s

stats over the last few seasons. The stats don’t lie, certainly over a season or two.

And on top of the stats: if a player has been loaned out more than once by

his parent club, then that must be a huge, red flag for any prosepctive buyer?

Today, supporters can smell any BS spin about a player from a hundred paces! 🙂

    Quark, the Sevco salesman.

  • the maister says:

    Hugh Keevins’
“You Asked Me For My Opinion And I Gave You My Opinion”
will of course be that sevco will win the League this season.
Tom English may even tip them to
“Win All The Domestic Trophies And Have A Good Run In The Champions League”!
Alex Rae would probably have to agree with them somewhat!

    • the maister says:

And by the way, the Clydebank Post was describing how Hugh Keevins
      “Loved”
      Clydebank, last week.
I think his wife is going to go spare when she reads it. Look out Hugh!

  • Scud Missile says:

I was wondering how long it would be before we got a special guest star appearance from wee Quark from Deep Space 9 aka Akex Rae.
The guy is a time served ARSEHOLE who was booted out of an AA meeting previously for bringing his BIGOTED talk to the meetings,he was told to BOLT ans never come back.

  • John Copeland says:

He’s crafty …crafty ! I would say he was a snide , dirty ,,dangerous thug , who almost maimed a fellow opponent player for life with by far and away the worst attempt at playing the ball I probably will ever witness on a football pitch ! Why do you think he gets injured so often ? Because he does it to himself with his filthy ,illegal tackling , he hurts himself so much in the process !

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

He’ll fit in well with Roofe then John – I remember the thug Rae getting suspended by UEFA for SEVEN games (where proper punishments were meted out to thugs wearing a Rangers – as they were known then – jersey and would be for those wearing a Sevco one 2012 thereafter) !

He got this ban for DELIBERATELY kicking CSKA Moscow player Sergei Dadu as he lay motionless on the ground after a clash…

Alcoholic or Reformed Alcoholic he ain’t a good one this one –

      • Scud Missile says:

He likes to mix his alcohol with some Colombian white powder,he has a serious issue with both.
