Portuguese journalist Santi Aouna is reporting that Jota has undergone a medical to join Al Ittihad and is set to sign a three year contract.
If a £25m deal is completed Benfica can expect to pick up around £6m as part of the sell on clause they inserted on the deal to join Celtic a year ago.
Despite the two clubs being in negotiations over the terms of a transfer fee the scale of the personal terms made the deal inevitable from the moment news first broke from the Saudi club.

There was no sighting of Jota around Lennoxtown as Celtic reported back for pre-season training, a scan of Twitter showed some images of him allegedly in Dubai preparing for his medical.
It seems that Celtic are holding out to improve on the £25m that they received from Arsenal four years ago for Kieran Tierney. Getting one up front payment would also be welcome rather than the traditional method over three or four instalments.
There was no media access to Celtic’s training today but it is likely that Brendan Rodgers will speak out at some stage this week. With Aaron Mooy announcing his retirement on Friday there are two significant gaps in the squad that won last season’s treble.
