UD Almeria are the latest club to be linked with Dominik Livakovic.

The Croatian international goalkeeper has been linked with Celtic but two weeks ago Fabrizio Romano tweeted that all terms had been agreed for a transfer from Dinamo Zagred to Fenerbahce.

For whatever reasons that move hasn’t been completed with Livakovic playing in midweek for Dinamo in their Champions League qualifier against Astana.

With a year left on his contract a fee of around £9m is being reported for the keeper who was one of the few Croatians still playing domestically when he helped his nation to the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar.

Celtic have a fairly unique goalkeeping ‘problem’ in that Joe Hart has a year left on his contract with neither Ben Siegrist or Scott Bain looking like successors.

Hart has been Celtic’s undisputed first choice for two seasons, playing in 72 out of 75 SPFL matches since he moved from Spurs in August 2021.

It seems to be something of a mystery that Livakovic hasn’t had a transfer lined up on the back of his World Cup displays.

Almeria survived relegation last season by just one point with Valladolid, Espanyol and Elche going down.
