A Colombian website has claimed that two Spanish top flights sides are battling it out to sign Alfredo Morelos.

All of the tales about Galatasaray, Porto and Sevilla being on the brink of signing the striker turned to dust at the end of the season when Morelos became a free agent.

Some unconvincing videos of the chunky striker have appeared on social media over the last few weeks of Morelos training at home in Colombia.

La Liga starts in two weeks time with the fitness and conditioning coaches at Granada and Celta Vigo on stand-by for overtime.

Balon Latino reports:

The international striker for Colombia had approaches from multiple teams. Specifically, football in Arabia and Turkey bet very heavily to be able to hire him . However, the forward prioritized the sports project of his career and rejected the offers. He accepting, at least partially, the offers of clubs in the TOP league in Europe. This is how Granada came into the life of Alfredo Morelos and he is confident of closing the agreement for his services.

However, in the last hours, it has been known that there is another Spanish team that has set its sights on the Colombian. Celta de Vigo has been looking for a center forward who can strengthen their team and the Colombian is an ideal profile. The coffee attacker is a striker who requires few chances and little serve to score. Furthermore, he is an attacker with the physical and technical characteristics to fight defenders and hold up the team.

However, despite Celta’s interest, Granada has the advantage over the signing of Morelos. The Colombian player likes the offer from the Nasrid club, both due to economic conditions and the time of the agreement. Additionally, the sports project is liked in the coffee camp. Given this, Celta must overcome the offers of the rojiblanco team. The connection of the Colombian to Granada, in principle, would take place under the following terms:

  • Contract for 3 seasons.

  • Termination clause around 6 or 8 million euros.

  • Leading role in the staff hierarchy.

Can Celta de Vigo outbid Granada?

In six seasons at Ibrox Morelos won one medal and scored one goal in front of Celtic fans with that goal coming at Hampden in February as he picked up a League Cup losers medal.

Rumours of Juventus wanting him were clarified… it wasn’t Juventus…It was Fray Bentos.

I hear that the Scooby Snacks are more generous in portion size than most countries … Yaaggeeee!

He “is a striker who requires few chances and little serve [service?] to score.” Unless he’s playing against a team that wears green and white, where he couldn’t hit a barn door with a banjo, and only if the ref happens to be a whistle happy mason.

“Furthermore, he is an attacker with the physical and technical characteristics to fight defenders and hold up the team.” Translation: “Weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down”. Yeah, I know, showing my age there, so anyone under 50 may have to Google Weebles.

Don’t forget about that 10% sell on clause for sevco, even though it has nothing to do with them.

I wonder how much Morelos paid Jackson of DR infamy to come up with that old bollox?

    Aye, very good.

IF – IF – Morelos gets close to attracting a new club,

how the hell can he pass a medical?

The Fat Boy was a good half a stone overweight during last season.

What size is he today, without a club?

He’s not a committed, professional athlete: just looking at him would put off

any interested manager – you would think?

His best bet – or only bet – is a return to sevco, maybe on a ‘Pay per Play’ deal?

Brilliant! If the Daily Record’s best efforts to flog the cat funt for D€mb€l€ dollar$ failed miserably when he was at the peak of his relatively limited powers, what chance has El Dailio Recordo of Bogotá got now he looks like a contestant on an imaginary reality show called ‘Celebrity Weight watchers’ that I just made up?!

The chances are slimmer than Alfie is, that’s for sure!
