Callum McGregor has outline his hopes for the next five years after signing a new contract with Celtic.
The midfielder has been a regular since breaking through nine years ago under Ronny Deila, surviving and thriving despite managerial changes with his partnership with Brendan Rodgers now resumed.
Back in 2016 when Rodgers took charge of the club there were no guarantees for McGregor but within a couple of months he established himself in central midfield as the perfect foil for Scott Brown.
Callum McGregor on signing a new five-year
contract?? “I’m delighted that the manager’s back, I’m delighted
that I’m going to be here long-term as well, so here’s
to many more successful years.”Watch the full and exclusive interview here.

Two years ago Ange Postecoglou handed the captaincy to McGregor who has thrived on the responsibility, with the squad decimated during Lockdown the importance of continuity had never been more important.
After more than 400 appearances for Celtic there are plenty of targets ahead for the former Academy player who has won 17 major honours in the last seven years with an incredible record of never having lost in a cup final.
Lol the daily sevci will soon be getting barred from ibrox after 4 of their so called journalists named 4 players to be moved on out of ibrox by describing them as DEADWOOD.
The 4 players are Kamara,Ben Davies,Scott Wright and gonnae geeze a wee Hudgie Haji, all of them described as DEADWOOD when previously Kamara was a £50 million target for Juventus and Haji was a being quoted as a £30 million player.
That’s very expensive DEADWOOD to be letting go especially when the Saudi clubs are throwing funny money about at Wright.
Signing CalMac on for 5 more years is the best bit of business CFC
will do this transfer window.
And I do like these PR-managed, daily updates of contract extensions,
which must be distressing for both the sevco support and the SMSM. 🙂
Who would want to sign a 5 year contract at Ibrox?
Or, put another way:
is sevco even capable of offering a 5 year contract to any of its players?
Got to be honest, I think 5 years is at least 2 years too many.
Cal Macs numbers are already on the wane, so his levels are only going one way.
So is Roofe injured again after one training session or is that just a rumour.
Cal-Mac signs a Five year deal ! – Stormy and sickening waters heading in the direction of The Huns and their fans, and their many, many supporters in The Sevco Scottish Football Media !
