Mathias Kvistgaarden could be a hot track for Celtic over the next few days.

With Brendan Rodgers repeatedly requesting more experienced, first team ready signings the arrival of a 21-year-old that scored once in 21 appearances for Brondby seems to be quite a stretch.

Rodgers has Kyogo Furuhashi as his first choice striker and Oh Hyeon-gyu with half a season’s experience of Scottish football as back up. The Celtic boss has also spoken of Daizen Maeda’s ability to play through the centre, his Japan role, despite being used almost exclusively by Celtic on the left wing.

With less than four days to go in the transfer window Celtic fans have high expectations after watching their Starting XI get weakened alongside disappointing results to the start of the season.

Italian reporter Rudy Galetti has over 100,000 followers on Twitter but has little if anything of a track record on Celtic transfer stories.

Speaking to Give Me Sport he said:

Let’s keep an eye also on Kvistgaarden. Celtic have approached Brondby about the striker over the last few days. It could be a hot track in the next days.

At a reported fee of £6m it seems that Brondby aren’t keen on doing business. Kvistgaarden may be tipped for the top but right now Celtic are in need of seasoned players that can instantly make an impact on the first team, not someone needing nursed along.

A promising Scandinavian with 13 career goals doesn’t seem the best use of £6m when Maik Nawrocki at £4.2m from Legia Warsaw is their most expensive signing of the summer window.

Solidify the team 4-4-2 wae the two cleverest plauers in the country (Maeda and Kyogo) up front together, Sevco’s horrendously bad defence would be all over the place, just watch what PSV do to them…..

Pinning our hopes on an incoming winger who’s only in the door for a couple of days to save the day on Sunday

Whilst going there with two CB’s who’ve played together once

    F*cking ludicrous state of affairs

Once again us Celtic fans are been taken for fools by this board and probably one in particular. Last minute signings and sob stories of how they tried but were unable to get signings over the line, is what we will be fed.

I’ve looked at Youtube videos of this Kvistgaarden and to be perfectly honest I wouldn’t pay 6 bob for him, let alone 6 million. He certainly doesn’t set the heather on fire, that’s for sure. It’s just the same old, same old, project players who may or may not bring in a bit of future profit. I don’t like what’s happening inside Celtic right now, it stinks.

Well, if Rangers turn us over on Sunday the fans won’t be long in letting Rodgers and the Board know where the exit door is. I can’t believe Rodgers is going along with these cheap purchases. By the way, I agree 100% with Harold Shand’s final line.

To get a ready made gialscorer would be well over Celtic F.C wage bill who already pay the biggest wages in the spl and top most leagues in europe except for teams with tv sponsors much bigger than us no we cant compete with them teams like burnley can pay big wages due to tv epl money but if a player goes to them its for the money same as arab league who will ruin our clubs if they get excepted into europe compitions humaritain issues they should not be and players should digraced joining for that alone the laws of these countries shiuld be outlawed but back yo players wage demands celtic cant and wont put there club at risk the defunct rfc even though they are a rifc back in premier league they where liqudated and scottish football in it shame altered all the rules to get them a european license do we want that in our Celtic.F.C.1888 hustory that is greater than any of most big money teams yes man city with the money and trophies they have won are still regard as the second team in manchester same in glasgow if you sign for Celtic you will not be on the breadline plus you will be in the champions league

They paid big money for Dembele and Edouard and they have more in the kitty now than they had then, so they can well afford a decent striker. Frankly, Celtic must move away from this £3-4 million signings of they want to progress in Europe. That’s what Rodgers said he was recruited for and he made it known that funds were available. So what happened? Well, Lawwell happened!

  • TicToc says:

Jesus H Christ is this some clowns idea of a joke? A 21 yr old striker, at best a FN project and we’ve got the defensive problems we have? And 6 FN million?
Lawwell (maybe both of them now) are seriously taking the piss and it’s GOT to be stopped. And Desmond is the puppet-master.
Come on Celtic get the finger out and Brendan, don’t be afraid to tell the truth about this.
    FFS! It absolutely stinks!

  • Martin Blackshaw says:

It certainly does stink and the fans can see right through it. Even now, the last week of the transfer window, after Rodgers publicly stating that he needs first team ready players of quality, every prospect the’re linked with is a 3.5 million pub player or wean. Pity help Rodgers and that Board of Rangers skelp us at Ibrox on Sunday.
