Ianis Hagi has shown the first sign that all is not well inside Ibrox.

Micky Beale made eight changes to the side that drew in midweek with Servette for today’s Viaplay Cup tie at home to Morton with the Romanian starlet left on the bench for both matches.

With half an hour left in today’s match and the home side gifted a penalty by David Dickinson Hagi got the call to replace Sam Lammers with Danilo and Abdallah Sima also brought on at the same time.

Since Beale took over at Ibrox he seems to have specialised in signing midfielders with Todd Cantwell, Nico Raskin, Kieran Dowell and Jose Cifuentes added to a squad that already contained John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara and Tom Lawrence.

I doesn’t take a mastermind to see that Beale doesn’t rate Hagi, after today’s cameo role the Romanian told The Sun:

Every player wants to play. I’m disappointed about the situation but I respect the gaffer’s decision although it doesn’t mean I agree with it.

He’s the manager. I’m a simple guy – I just love football, I train on a daily basis. I’ve had a one-year injury, they know me and my history and what I did.

I’ve never felt better. I knew I needed a full pre-season. I think I’m the only one who didn’t miss a session and I’ve been available in everything.

I’m really happy with how I am physically and some of my stats are better than prior to the injury.

Hagi returned from injury on the 28th of January, it seems that Beale is looking to stretch his full recovery out to almost as long as his year long knee injury.

Real Madrid, Spurs, Barcelona and Manchester City aren’t in the slightest bit interested in the son of a famous player from the nineties.

What happened to the tactical genius that Beale has been called ? That moniker did not last too long ! Still , according to Hagi’s da , his son is worth 10’s of millions of £’s pounds so he’ll have his luxurious cushion to fall onto when the Rangers pump him …..
