Four years after slipping out of Ibrox Lee Wallace has finally been granted birthday recognition.

While Kyle Lafferty, Allan McGregor and Steve Davis bailed out in 2012 only to be welcomed back with open arms Waldo opted to TUPE over his contract to join Ally McCoist on coach trips to Annan, Peterhead, Forfar and of course Alloa.

The former Hearts defender picked up title winning medals for the Third and Second Divisions then was on board the Warburton Revolution, picking up a Scottish Cup runners-up medal at Hampden as Hibs fans celebrated with Sunshine on Leith belting out around the National Stadium.

Another Hampden visit in April 2018 virtually ended Waldo’s career as Graeme Murty went into meltdown following a 4-0 Scottish Cup defeat from Celtic that saw Andy Halliday humiliated by being substituted after 41 minutes with hoops supporters serenading the former Bradford and Livingston journeyman.

Wallace had been out injured since September, Kenny Miller was an unused substitute at Hampden but seemed to upset Murts in the postscript to the match.

While Halliday’s career lived on Wallace and Kenny Miller were disciplined by the club but were vindicated when they appealed to the SPFL and had their fines returned.

Miller had left the club but there was just three substitute appearances for Wallace under Steven Gerrard before he joined QPR as a free agent, reunited with Warburton.

Lots of former players enjoy roles back at Ibrox in hospitality or media duties but after retiring a year ago Wallace seemed to have been airbrushed out of sight- until today’s Birthday Wishes were tweeted.

    Fair enough,

but how many of the same supporters above

bought tickets for ‘Greegsy’s’ testimonial against NUFC two weeks ago?

A sellout crowd, no less, for the keeper who sold out the Ibrox support back in 2012.

Never mind birthday wishes to this loser, the best bit of SEVERE ARSE LICKING today goes to Gavin Berry who has been walking about on cloud 9 today with his head so far up Cuntwell’s arse I’m sure it’s ready pop out his gub at some point.
Reading what he wrote about the sevco dud you got the impression he was madly in love with Cuntwell, what an absolute embarrassment.

  • Scud Missile says:

So the Dallas cowboy is on VAR duty for sevco this weekend,I wonder if he can beat the 4 penalties he is famous for giving to sevco in the one game.
Two before half time and that new record is on the cards, especially if we run up a cricket score against Dross County earlier.

Mcgregor did not sell anyone out his employer went bust and ceased to exist. He e went looking for other employment which was his legal right.

    • Bob (original) says:

Correct: McGregor applied his rights and chose to leave Ibrox, on a free.

In the absence of a transfer fee, he no doubt got a nice signing-on bonus

and decent wages at Besiktas, and then Hull City.

However, Wallace chose to stay by ‘TUPEing’ over to sevco to play in the bottom league.

Depsite the fact that I didn’t particlularly like ‘Elbows’ Wallace,

with his 8 years’ service for RFC and then sevco, he was far more deserving

of a Testimonial than McGregor…in my humble opinion.

The dumb and deluded finally get to recognise one who was prepared to go down along with the ship.
Don’t know how they managed to get reinstated into the Scottish football league though!
