Anthony Joseph has named four positions that Celtic are looking to strengthen in the final week of the transfer window while confirming interest in Luis Palma.

After a relax, laid back approach to the last 10 weeks it seems that Celtic’s recruitment team is springing into action with a trip to Ibrox and a return to the Champions League coming up in the next month.

A bid in the region of £3.5 to £4m appears to have been discussed with ARIS Thesselonika for their goal scoring winger.

That fee is a good deal short of the money that Celtic paid Benfica for Jota a year ago which has some fans concerned about downgrading of the squad.

Last summer Celtic spent around £20m on new signing with Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers returning on permanent deals alongside Sead Haksabanovic and Alexandro Bernabei.

So far this summer there is a surplus of around £13m from the sales of Jota and Carl Starfelt balanced against four project signings plus Gustaf Lagerbielke and Maik Nawrocki.

You ever notice how every time soon as we’re linked with a player ( Palma this morning )

A couple of hours later the daily record will do an article about how we could lose out on him (Usually to the Saudis )

Like clockwork , watch out for it in the coming days with the next few players we’re linked with

Editor: STV will be putting together a highlights reel of a sending off and a sitter, like the Record they are among Celtic’s preferred media partners.

May I politely request that Harold that you don’t encourage any fellow Celtic supporters to watch out for articles in The Daily Record (ie. financially support this rancid rag of a publication) –

I do take an interest in seeing what daily lies and fabrications they attack my beloved Celtic with and slag them back worse on here to get it off my chest…

But I’m not certainly not buying it (haven’t for around 20 years) and never will ever again or any others bar a local one once a week that never mentiones Celtic (or Sevco for that matter)… Blogs like this let me know what shadowy skulduggery these tramps are penning about my beloved Hoops –

My crusade to stop Hoops fans to not buy it continues unabated and I long for the day that they will rot in the graveyard of evil newspapers like The News of The World !

Clachanacuddin , I used to be guilty of clicking the articles , I only go on that Twitter site in the morning and once before I hit the sack( I know that’s bad enough ) for a scroll down to see the headlines , I would never buy the print version

I hope that paper goes down the Gary Glitter soon and all the hun hack message boys are back on jobseekers allowance

Good man not buying the print version harold !

I did myself at one point before the internet and our wonderful Celtic blogs and forums like this one…

I chucked it after thugs and thieves gate – (well done Lenny for getting a five figure defamation outta them) !

I don’t think they were as quite as bad then as is being reported on Celtic forums nowadays…

Thankfully the internet coincided with me getting older and wiser !
