With Micky Beale afraid to face the media today Neil Banfield was put up to speak with an increasingly concerned batch of reporters.
The chunky Ibrox coach is always good value in the Comical Ali stakes, when things are looking bleak he can be trotted out to tell the rest of the world how well things are going.
Apparently Beale and Banfield are at an amazingly big club, steeped in tradition and honours with a track record for winning trophies.
Coping with those demands is just part of the job for Banfield who has likened his boss to Arsene Wenger for no obvious reasons.
The garden is rosy according to Banfield but with fans in a state of rage and anger reassuring them that it will all come good isn’t going down well with the furious bears online.
Banfield had been out of football for over a year following heart surgery before accepting the offer to become No 2 to Beale.
Speak for yourself Banfield. I certainly won’t be backing the team ?

Why did nobody ask just where the Poundland Pep was, that’s Guardiola(not Pep&Co Poundland).
Banfield?
You can change your name legally by Deed Poll can’t you, if you’re going to join
“The Rangers”!?
From our point of view, the Huns are most certainly headed in the right direction.
Hail Hail.
I’m listening to the SSB panel right now making excuses as to why Beale hid this afternoon
