A month into his exciting new adventure with Fenerbahce Ryan Kent has been dumped out of the Starting XI.

It seems that there is little demand in Turkish football for pointless step-overs with referees unwilling to award penalties for running into defenders in the penalty box.

Kent was tipped for various big money moves during five mainly pointless years at Ibrox but even available as a free agent no English clubs showed interest.

Starting 42 matches last season he scored three goals with his final appearance being in the Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic at Hampden where he was substituted after 45 anonymous minutes against Alistair Johnston.

Covering his Turkish problems The Sun reports:

RYAN KENT has been challenged to up his game and reclaim his Fenerbahce spot.

The former Rangers star was summoned to a meeting with boss Ismail Kartal having been dropped from the matchday squad altogether.

Kent, 26, was one of several high profile Ibrox departures at the end of last season.

After much speculation over his next move, the former Liverpool trainee penned a four-year deal with Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the summer.

Things started well for the winger, who netted in the 5-0 Europa Conference League thumping of FC Zimbru but that’s his only goal for Fener so far, and Kent has in fact only appeared ONCE in the Turkish Super Lig.

He started their opening league clash with Gazisehir on 13 August but was then an unused substitute for the win over Samsunspor eight days later.

Kent started the 5-1 thrashing of FC Twente back in continental competition on 24 August but was hooked at half-time with the score at 1-1 and he hasn’t appeared at all since.

Revealing what he said to Kent, Kartal told Fotomac: “I did not include you in the squad for tactical purposes.

“I said this that day as well. I say it again – other names will not be in the squad one day. Don’t be demoralised, keep working. As long as you work like this, you will get the jersey.”

Soon after signing for Fenerbahce Kent was linked with a loan move to Hull City.

  • Scud Missile says:

And the FAKE NEWS stories continue,Leeds could have picked Clarke Kent up on a free transfer(he is better than Kamara) but stayed away from.
But then decided to SUPPOSEDLY pay sevco £5.5 million for a player of less quality, somebody is telling PORKIES again.
You never know Beale might give it a slip of the tongue again at his next presser and tell all about Kamara leaving in a free.
After all he did take the NIP after we beat his klub the other week by saying, don’t believe the quotes of the figures sevco paid for the players that came to the klub in summer.

  • Terence Nova says:

Must be the best £7 million Liverpool FC ever made…What a fud he is.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Ach well all I can say is… “Ah ‘KENT’ that this wouldnae work out”

Now watch for the clamouring to have him ‘back’ at Sevco in January to get unlimited penalties for penalty Tav !

  • the maister says:

Most memorable moment in a sevco jersey?
Throwing a full force left-hook at Scott Brown in the Celtic Park centre-circle!
Oh and almost scoring a late Extra-time winner in the 2022 Europa League Final in Seville.

  • the maister says:

    What a pure embarrassment!
