Joe Hart’s red card statement

Joe Hart has apologised for his red card at Livingston today, the first of his career.

In the 28th minute the experienced keeper raced out of his penalty box and sent Mo Sangare tumbling to the deck.

It was a fairly cut and dried decision, a VAR check took place to check for a possible offside but when that was cleared Hart was off, Scott Bain on and James Forrest sacrificed before the half hour mark.

After being at fault for Feyenoord’s opening goal in midweek the red card completed a miserable week for Hart but his team-mates ensured that there was no further punishment by turning a 1-0 lead into a 3-0 victory.

Bain will start next week’s match away to Motherwell with Hart virtually certain to come back into the team for the Champions League tie at home to Lazio.

Ben Siegrist is Celtic’s third choice goalkeeper but has been left out of the Champions League squad.

A poor week for Joe Hart alright but wouldn’t condemn him either.
Part of the game nowadays within the game that keepers have to deal with, especially with playing with a fairly high defensive line.
I thought we would address the keepers position in the summer, but seeing what the club still means to Hart, and what he possibly brings into the dressing room, I can possibly understand why the club might leave it until January to maybe address the position now.
Regardless bain Still remains a liability with being such a bombscare between the sticks.
I know big Ben hasn’t done himself any favours since he’s came to us, yet would feel a bit more comfortable in goals than Bain myself, even if he’s also piss poor with the football at his feet.

Have to disagree about joe being at fault midweek
His wall let him down badly
Joe Hart was one of the few pass marks midweek
