Pat Nevin has suggested that Chelsea make a move to sign Kyogo Furuhashi in the January transfer window.

Mauricio Pochettino is under serious pressure to deliver results with just five points picked up from the first six matches of the season.

Heavy investment under Thomas Tuchil and Graham Potter has created a badly balanced squad with several players on seven year contracts delivering spectacularly underwhelming performances.

Summer appointment Pochettino is expected to deliver a return to the Champions League after finishing last season in 12th place.

Finding a proven goalscorer is a January priority with Nevin telling gambling website OLBG:

I think Ivan Toney is the one that makes the most sense. Chelsea won’t get Callum Wilson or many other proven strikers. I think Kyogo Furuhashi at Celtic would be a good move, too, as he’d finish off a lot of the missed chances. Chelsea will have a lot of options, but they’ve already signed a huge amount of players.

Kyogo extended his Celtic contract in the summer which killed off rumours that he could be a transfer target of Ange Postecoglou on the back of selling Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

Chelsea could probably treble the striker’s current wages but as a career move Chelsea looks a high risk option as opposed to staying at Celtic where Kyogo has been an essential starter under two different management teams.

Tart Nevin the wee man with selective hearing and values.

Never trust anyone who changes his football allegiances.

    Had forgotten this man existed…

I remember in a Q & A in The Shoot Magazine when asked who he supported he stated Celtic –

Like the rest of them that suddenly changed when he found the red, white and blue media pound…

Who actually IS he ‘supporting’ or should that be ‘following’ these days !
