If you buy a match ticket or television subscription you are kept in the dark, if you are part of the commentary team you get to tune in to the key decision making conversations.

Last night Rory Hamilton was able to hear the conversation between Nick Walsh and Willie Collum as they concluded that no foul play had occurred between Abdallah Sima and Jamie Brandon.

Every pundit on TV and radio that has been asked for their view have said that the goal should have been disallowed for a fol on the Livingston defender.

Hamilton head the discussion between officials but has to play Chinese Whispers as he relays the new on to Viaplay Sports viewers.

Last season Andy Walker spilled the beans when he revealed details of a decision where the referee and VAR agreed to take the easy option rather than the right decision. Walker never added any more detail but his days in the Sky Sports commentary box ended in May.

Since VAR was rushed into operation last October there has been virtually no open communications from the SFA.

Even the factual lines to decide on offside decisions are kept secret although they were shamed into trying to explain why a ‘goal’ from Jota at Motherwell last season was disallowed. That exposed a bizarre claim that the Celtic forward was offside when he RECEIVED the ball.

On Saturday at Ibrox Steven McLean will carry the burden of the Ibrox Tribute Act not having conceded a penalty in 61 SPFL Premiership matches. Covering him will be Greg Aitken on VAR.

I wonder what odds you would have got , betting on sevco going 60 domestic games without conceding a penalty .
Might take a trip to the bookies tomorrow and see what odds they offer on Celtic going the next 60 domestic games without conceding a penalty .

Some mad BENNY on SSB tonight was bragging that there was nothing wrong with the first goal last night and even had that been scoring a goal the same way he would expect the goal to stand,LIAR.

  • Scud Missile says:

Sorry Livi scoring that goal that should read.

  • Scud Missile says:

Take a look at our nickel&dime league, and then look at our nickel&dime refs and the CORRUPT officials running the SFA,and we wonder why it’s a nickel&dime package paid to the league by SKY you only need to look back over the games last weekend and that sevco game last night for the outcome.

The EPL and other leagues throughout Europe get better deals because they ain’t the backwater countries like ours,no tickly handshakes no klubs favoured by or shown bias towards one klub.
We get what we pay for, washers compared to what gets dished out elsewhere throughout Europe.

We won’t get answers from Crawford Allen or anyone else at the SFA regarding last nights performance from the officials,so we might as well get used to it.

We need someone like Sutton or(Michael Stewart naw scrap that he’s been SILENCED) to say it as he sees it and call it out as BLATANT CHEATING.

  • Bob (original) says:

Further proof – if we ever need it – that the SFA leadership is an

incompetent bunch who are an hindrance to the Scottish game.

Referees explaining their decisions in real time, on the pitch will happen.

    ‘Statistical anomalies’ will be stopped.

    The question though, is:

“Just how long will it take the SFA leadership to sort it out?”

Left to the blazered buffoons, they will only make changes / improvements for the

paying customers at the very last stage: when the game is a total shambles.

Fingers crossed that an outside influence forces the SFA to get it sorted sooner.

Pressure from TV companies, from UEFA,, from elsewhere…?

[Won’t hold my breath for our Lawwell-led Board to make a stand. 🙁 ]

    • Frank Duffy says:

Hi Bob, I agree with almost everything you said. The only exception being is where you say include the TV companies to put pressure on the SFA. They won’t apply any pressure because, as long as our game is a busted flush, they can dictate how little they pay the SFA for the broadcasting of our national/club games!
