Celtic will face three vital games in seven days after the SPFL agreed to push the visit to Tynecastle back 24 hours.

Originally scheduled for Saturday October 21 the Tynecastle clash will be played the following day followed by a home match with Athletico Madrid on October 25 with another trip to Edinburgh to face Hibs on October 28.

As soon as the fixtures were published Celtic fans noticed successive away matches in Edinburgh either side of a midweek Champions League tie.

Now Sky Sports and the SPFL has concentrated that run of fixtures into seven days with the Edinburgh trips Celtic’s most difficult domestic game before the turn of the year. Televising the Hibs match would have assisted the hoops preparations in the middle of busy run of fixtures.

Before the Tynecastle trip there is an international break with Scotland facing France in a friendly on October 17, five days after the European Championship qualifier away to Spain.

Celtic’s home match with Aberdeen will be shown live by Sky with a 2,30pm kick off on Sunday November 12.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

They UTTERLY DETEST us and no longer try to hide it…

They’ll say they pay the money and will pick who plays whatever day they want at whatever time they want…

Why is Celtic’s game with Aberdeen on a SUNDAY at 2.30pm when our European games are on a Wednesday –

It’ll be so that Sevco can play before us at 12.30pm ?

I am just so so very glad that I no longer pay to see Celtic live – It breaks my heart but I’m utterly content with my decision !

  • the maister says:

So, Scotland win their next two games and give the Celtic Bhoys a bye for the friendly against France on 17th October would seem to be the favourite option!
That would be too sensible though for the SFA!

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Not a snowballs chance in hell of that happening maister – That would aid Sevco !

Clarke might think about it but the hierarchy will be praying that he makes Cal-Mac play and that he breaks his leg…

Job done Cal-Mac out for 6 months, but back rested in time for the finals, and Celtic without their captain for most of the season –

Make no mistake we are dealing with some very dark, shadowy and evil people in the hierarchy of The SFA !

  • Johnno says:

No real surprise that everything will be done to hamper us as much as possible within the SPFL.
Even moreso with beating the scum on Sunday.
Thinking that giving us closer competition, with trying to promote Scottish football is only a smokescreen as to what’s really going on.
Not bothered really, as possibly was to be expected, hence getting in the extra squad numbers to handle any inconvenience that will be placed upon us, and trying to accommodate the scum with the Thursday/Sunday nightmare they face

  • Johnny mcglinchey says:

Tell sky to go fuck themselves. HH

  • Jack says:

  • Sean McGinley says:

  • Stevie says:

Only because sky ain’t got champions league.

  • Scud Missile says:

I posted on here and the Celtic blog weeks ago that should sevco not make the Champions League group stages and get papped into the Europa league, then Celtic games scheduled in for a Saturday slot would get moved to a Sunday slot so there is no extra pressure on sevco playing their game the next day after Celtic supposedly Saturday fixtures.
Lol and the sevco klan base fans are posting tonight Celtic run Scottish football.

  • John A says:

Why have we no say in this?

  • Terence Nova says:

Why does it take guys like Joe, and fans like us, to point out the obvious cheating and bias in the Scottish game ??..We are continually shafted…but the sound of silence can still be heard where it matters…Our Board are a disgrace…AND NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.
