Stan Collymore ready to make Celtic ‘offer’

Perhaps taking inspiration from Gary Hooper’s performances at the Masters, Stan Collymore is apparently back in training and hoping for an unlikely SOS from Brendan Rodgers.

The former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker hasn’t played in over 20 years but through social media there is one club that particularly appeals to him.

During his playing days the young Collymore spoke of his support for Rangers and how he had travelled from the midlands to Ibrox in his youth to take in some matches.

Once he discovered what lay underneath the surface of the Souness years, Paul Gascoigne and Brian Laudrup he quickly disassociated himself from Rangers and found Celtic and especially hoops supporters to be more in line with his values.

With almost 900,000 Twitter followers he is clearly a big hitter online but it is unlikely that Brendan Rodgers will be making a dream come true for a 52-year-old.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

From Rangers (as they were when he was young) to Celtic…

A lot of bloggers said ‘Their grandkids will be Celtic supporters’ –

True enough it’s happening up here as lots of Sevco supporting grandparents see their grandkids running about proudly in The Hoops…

Not sure if it’s quite that simple in Glasgow and the surrounding towns – But Here’s Hopin !!!
