David Edgar has called time on Micky Beale with an inevitable conclusion to his time as manager at Ibrox.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst delivered a European final and a Scottish Cup but was sacked after 366 days in charge, tonight it looks doubtful if Beale will last that long.
The host of the Heart & Hand podcast enjoys privileged access to the Ibrox hierarchy with a very direct line on transfer news.
That tends to mute criticism but there comes a stage for fan media where they have to reflect the thoughts of their audience rather than acting as unofficial club messenger.
This time last year Giovanni van Bronckhorst presided over a second capitulation at Celtic Park. Straight away he was into an unforgiving Champions League campaign that saw his backing from fans collapse.
Game by game, defeat by defeat the criticism of van Bronckhorst grew, after going nine points behind in the SPFL going into the World Cup break he was sacked.

I just think that there is an inevitability to it now- when it will happen
Shamelessly Beale added to the pressure on his predecessor with a choreographed visit to Ibrox a month before the Dutchman was sent on gardening leave.
Dropping in on the Louden Tavern for pre-match drinks, posing with players in the Directors Box all signalled to the board that he was on standby to dump QPR just a few months into his time in that job.
Tonight Beale will be feeling very lonely, he knows that the club has changed Chairman and CEO since he was appointed.
David Martindale and Derek McInnes won’t be boozing with the bears in the Loudon any time soon but they’ll be in Beale’s brogues just as quickly as he fired in his CV to replace van Bronckhorst.
The media are still backing Beale to the hilt
Drafting in Des Roache ( me neither ) to twist the narrative on the disallowed goal
Which is good news for us , let’s just hope the Rangers board stick by him too
Because this guy is an absolute mug
“All my sons will be like me”
Depressed & feeling suicidal after watching the glorious Glasgow Celtic demolish their favoured tribute act in their ain midden for the 20th season in a row? Aye, sounds about right….
Ex refs Steve Conroy and Des Roache coming out with their take on the decisions at Ibrox. These two are a pair of clowns who get wheeled out after every game .
They are desperate to be relevant. Take my tip guys. You’re making arses of yourselves. Shut it and retire disgracefully.
