Nick Walsh made it to 60 SPFL matches running since a penalty was awarded against the club from Ibrox.

The Bearsden based PE teacher has played a significant part in that run, just over a year ago Ryan Kent escaped any punishment as he tripped Liel Abada 15 yards from goal just as the winger was about to shoot early on in a match Celtic won 4-0.

A fortnight ago Don Robertson and Alan Muir decided to take no action when Jack Butland then Connor Goldson combined to push Kyogo Furuhashi to the ground with the Glasgow Derby goal-less at the time.

Gavin Duncan was on VAR duty at McDiarmid Park yesterday, predictably he backed up Walsh with two key decisions where it appeared that the VAR check was undertaken with the outcome known in advance.

As Chris Kane latches onto a slack back-pass from Ben Davies Jack Butland is caught out, the goalkeeper is stranded and kicks out at Kane’s ankle as the St Johnstone defender falls to the ground.

No words are really needed, Tom Lawrence does to Kane far more than Kirk Broadfoot did to Leon Balogun. Fans of every club except one could predict the outcome of both incidents.

On Thursday it will be a non-Scottish referee in charge of the Europa League tie against Real Betis, last season in 10 European ties Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side had four penalties awarded against them.

On Monday Walsh returns to his day job at Boclair Academy working on the fitness of Murray Park starlets. Last season in Celtic’s first domestic match played with VAR Walsh awarded Hearts two penalties against Ange Postecoglou’s side after consulting the pitchside monitor.

2nd one is definitely a penalty. Not sure about the first; possible dive?

Even if they were stonewallers, there is no way Walsh is going to inconvenience his business partners. As for VAR, unless it’s a high profile game, the huns will get the benefit of the doubt every time.

Watch first one in real time and it’s a stonewaller penalty. That’s what we are dealing with!

I wonder what the ‘experts ‘ on 3 different BBC programmes yesterday thought of the decisions by the officials . We had Al Lament and Kenny Miller commentating on Sportsound . We had Kenny MacIntyre , Alex Rae and Kevin Thomson all in the studio . And then we had Steven Thompson , MC Cann and Stephen Creagen on the sofas on Sportscene at night . Can anyone see a common thread with these programmes ? Or have I been eating too much Coco – pops !

    • Stevie says:

You can never eat to much coco pops, but Thompson,Creagan and McCann sidestepped the issue altogether. It was shown but it was just talked over.

Does anyone actually know the total number of ex Huns employed at BBC Scotland…

It’ gotta be seriously disproportionate in comparison to the Token Tim of Paddy Bonner…

The only time I’d ever listen would be when we beat Sevco in The Glasgow Derby matches –

Which thankfully has been quite a lot lately !

  • the maister says:

They used to tell us that all these things even themselves out over the course of the season! It’s just pure spawn, as proven now by statistics.

Nice wee sixty mile trip up to Perth (and Back) for Little Nicky. All expenses paid, of course!

  • James Ferguson says:

Unless every club chairmen that aren’t in the ludge which won’t be many come out and challenge the corrupt SFA nothing will be done to stop these referees rigging sevco matches and this includes the Celtic directors too all are gutless time for foreign refs and a Fergus McCann figurehead back at paradise to take on ludge SFA.

    Cheats hiding in plain sight.
