Todd Cantwell has tried to reignite a feud with Chris Sutton claiming that the former Celtic striker needs to pick on him to stay relevant!

It has probably escaped TikTok’s notice that Sutton’s views are sought out by Sky Sports, BBC, Daily Mail and the Daily Record while he humours the bears with pointless social media content as Celtic pile up the trophies.

Apart from being former Norwich players the two men have virtually nothing in common with Sutton an England internationalist and title winner in Scotland and England while TikTok tries to win back his place in the Ibrox side from Dutch dud Sam Lammers.

A sore leg picked up losing to Celtic on September 3 has kept Cantwell out of action but yesterday he made a groovy podcast appearance wearing his baseball cap indoors to remind everyone that he is both a hipster and influencer.

I’ll be completely honest, right. So my stance on this is very clear.

So you have pundits, you have ex-footballers and their life’s completely different now. They don’t have that opportunity to play any more and I can’t speak about what it’s like being an ex-footballer because I’m obviously still a current footballer.

There’s just one thing that I can’t really understand when it comes to pundits that used to play football which is jumping on players – what I would call what Chris Sutton does is an attention seeker.

I find that very bizarre because if you had a good career why are you sat on Twitter hammering in to a lad that you had an interview with and said ‘you’re an amazing person, amazing player’ when you’re back at Norwich and think that he just forgets that.

For me this isn’t even real. What he’s doing is playing up to his links with Celtic and you know, he needs to stay relevant. And that’s sad for me. If I’m an ex-player on Twitter tweeting a 25-year old trying to stay relevant, for me, I look at myself and go ‘what am I doing?’ That’s just me. I don’t know what he’s sat at home doing.

For me it’s like why are you so interested in Todd Cantwell? Why are you so interested in Rangers? You played for Celtic – fantastic. Support Celtic. Tweet about Celtic every day, you love them, that’s fine!

But for me he just frustrates me. The reason I’ve had a couple of chomps – and I don’t chomp on much – is because he spoke to me at Norwich and he told me what a fantastic footballer I was, the world’s at your feet Todd, you’re a great guy Todd.

And then I sign for Rangers and it’s like ‘oh, just forget everything I said before and I’m going to start a feud with you on Twitter.’ I’m like ‘what?’

Cantwell has never been relevant as a player outside of his own tiny mind.

In 10 months at Ibrox TikTok has lost four times to Celtic and been hammered by PSV Eindhoven in a Champions League qualifier- not quite the achievements of a 25-year-old with the world at his feet.

We’ve all been there with even amateur clubs.

A new manager who just might not think you are as good as you think you

are – and you have to fight to regain your place in the team.

Beale thought the sun shone out of Cantwell’s bahookie: he was one of

Beale’s ‘blue-eyed boys’ and guaranteed a start if fit.

As he’s been unfit recently, Cantwell might be getting a bit twitchy,

so a ‘controversial’ message was needed to remind the bears he was

still there – and to remind them that he ‘gets it’ [?] about sevco.

I still think Cantwell is arguably sevco’s most skilled oufield player,

but he’s as soft as sh… erm, he needs to toughen up – but at 25?

And he’s just also confirmed that Sutton gets under his skin.

I’m sure Sutton will keep that one up his sleeve until the next Glasgow Derby. 🙂

Sorry for being off topic but just pointing out that non of the media have highlighted the similarity between Liell Abada being told to leave Celtic because of the GB’s anti-Israeli stance and the fact that the Catholic Sevco players have had to listen to the anti-Catholic abuse week in week out for years.
    Quite an astonishing oversight…

No need to apologise… I’ve ever understood how so many players accept this. Guess £ talks louder. But how wider society tolerates or ignores it? How Europe and the word ignores it (it’s televised but sky etc hit mute)? It’s honestly beyond belief… Today people get cancelled for nothing, literally nothing much and careers are ended for minor infractions… That whole sub section of Scottish society somehow get a free pass??? Today bias and intolerance of any kind is jumped on and snuffed out but not anti catholic… Again I don’t understand

Looking forward to Sutton’s response to canny do much including play football but if I was chocolate I would eat myself

  • Tony B says:

Shitey footballer bought by an even shitier manager who has now been papped out.

Cvntwell is only made remarkable by his uncanny resemblance to Barbie and his overweening stupidity.

The new man is likely to be unimpressed.

  • John Copeland says:

Do you think Cantwell is one of those players of whom Alex McLeish described on Sunday Sportsound as requiring a ‘wee cuddle ‘ from the newest the Rangers coach ?

  • the maister says:

He’s a Loser. He makes Looby Loo look like a footballer!
    An Attention Seeker par excellence!
He might be feeling mighty just now but he has a few challenges, not very far, ahead of him!

  • Scud Missile says:

That will be a bite from Cuntwell then.

  • Scud Missile says:

He would have been better keeping his mouth shut as he is only going to get more abuse.

  • harold shand says:

Players only get away with this kind of nonsense if their winning trophies

He should be worried about the orcs getting fed up with his social media mouthing off whilst winning f*ck all on the pitch

and turning on him just like they have with three quarters of his fellow team mates
