All that it took was the offer of a four year contract and Philippe Clement was instantly the best manager in Scotland.
It was a title that Micky Beale held until the last week in August when PSV Eindhoven and then Celtic exposed the fact that the smooth talking former QPR boss had been winging it since last November.
Being out of work while your only rival for the job took part in Zoom calls from Japan always made Clement the easy choice for the Ibrox board as they introduced their third new manager in 24 months.
There has been a few batches of reality among Ibrox fans since losing to Celtic in September but their natural inclination to defy logic and reality has been restored by the appointment of Clement.
Winning three Belgian titles is a decent achievement but all of them have been driven by substantial spending, there aren’t the funds inside Ibrox for another spending spree, as the summer proved there are no assets for sale among the current Ibrox squad.
Honestly, I wouldn’t have thought it possible that there could be this many missing chromosomes in one specific following. It’s difficult to believe the sheer number of credulous, gullible, imbecilic, halfwitted simpletons that support that mob.

For good measure Josh Barrie of the Rangers Review claimed that pre Monaco Clement was one of Europe’s most exciting young coaches, strangely since June no other club has thought about offering him a job.

This guy is in for one almighty shock when he gets his feet under the table in the next coming couple of weeks in Govan land . The culture shock shall be depressing , the pressure shall be suffocating and the reality that he is going to have to work with 3rd rate tenderfoot players ,not up to the job and can’t bring in his own because the clumpany is pratted,will also be overwhelming.
