Cameron Carter-Vickers has featured in a number of images released by Celtic from training ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League tie against Lazio.

The defender hasn’t played since being substituted at half-time in the victory over Aberdeen on August 13.

Brendan Rodgers has been coy about nailing down a return schedule for Carter-Vickers with the hoops boss facing a big dilemma alongside the player and the medical staff.

Celtic play on Wednesday and Saturday followed by a fortnight off before returning to a very demanding schedule of facing Hearts, Atletico Madrid and Hibs on October 22, 25 and 28.

Gus Lagerbielke’s suspension leaves Rodgers short on options with Nat Phillips making two part appearances since joining on loan from Liverpool at the end of August.

Two months ago it would have seemed incredible that Liam Scales would be a certainty to start a Champions League match but through unexpected circumstances it will be the former Shamrock Rovers man Plus One to start tomorrow’s match against Lazio.

Liam has revelled in the big games. All games actually. Lazio are bound to get a few chances so good luck to all who wear the Shirt.

Send them home with their footballs up…….

The odds at Ladbrokes are for a draw tonight. That would give us one point from matches.
You think that kind of form will get us
        “European football After Christmas”?

Best not to rush CCV back too quickly…

Looks like Celtic did the last time –

It’s a Sevco trait that one and one they’re welcome to !

  • Martin Blackshaw says:

Had it been Celtic of last year under Ange, then yes, I would have been extremely optimistic about our chances against Lazio. This year’s Celtic haven’t really hit the heights for a number of reasons, though. They are definitely not firing on all cylinders so far and are far less the goal threat they were 12 months ago. I wish them luck and hope for the best, but if we struggle to get results against SPL teams then how much harder will it be against a team like Lazio, especially given our defensive weaknesses. Hope I’m wrong again, for I have underestimated the team in the past and been too negative. We just seem to lack that cutting edge up front without Jota and Abada.
