After failing to get Kevin Musky Muscat the manager’s job at Ibrox Craig Moore has hit out at the structure of the club.

The former Australian internationalist enjoys a duel role of full-time football agent with World Soccer Partners alongside promoting himself with Go Radio.

Clearly there is a conflict of interest but it is one that Go Radio as commercial operators are happy to support.

Moore has been quietly supportive of all things Ibrox despite horrendous recruitment and results which led to the sacking of Micky Beale.

Yokohama F Marinos boss Muscat was pushed hard for the job of replacing Beale but was unable to attend face-to-face interviews in London and was under contract to the J-League side till the end of this year.

On Sunday Philippe Clement was announced as the new manager at Ibrox with Millwall the new target to get Musky into the UK management scene.

Rather than criticise the appointment of the Belgian at Ibrox Moore has turned his focus on the lack of a Director of Football at Ibrox with the Daily Record picking up on his appearance on Go Radio:

They need one. They absolutely need one and what they don’t need is an administrator. They need someone with football experience.

It should never have taken this long, because it’s an important role. And I think it’s an important role at any football club.

I had a discussion with Ally McCoist early, early when Michael Beale first got the job and we talked about a director of football. Coisty thought that wasn’t the most important thing. It’s players, get the players in for the manager.

This was my concern at that particular time and it’s something that’s come back to bite Rangers in the bottom, unfortunately. They didn’t have that in place, they spent a lot of money and the person should have been in there.

You still need to have protection for the football club. That for me has been lacking since Ross Wilson has left and it’s a position that 100 per cent needs to be filled.

Football agency World Soccer Partners describes Moore as

Current professional Football Scout for players and coaches, Football Consultant and World Soccer Partners Ambassador.

Craig is an ex Australian international (Socceroo), who played in the English Premier League (Crystal Palace and Newcastle United), Scottish League (Rangers Football Club), Bundesliga in Germany (Borussia Monchengladbach) and Australia’s A-League (Brisbane Roar). He also played in the Champions League and World Cup and was Captain of clubs and country throughout his professional career.

In addition, Craig has spent time as a mentor and scout at the Football Federation of Australia, as Sporting Director of the Brisbane Roar (Australian A-League Club) and Commentator and Analysis for SBS TV at the World Cup 2018.

Craig is an experienced, revered, and forward-thinking football strategist who can support pathway opportunities for talent and share significant knowledge and experience at the clinics.

With the need for an experienced, revered and forward thinking football strategist at Ibrox the ideal candidate could be right on their doorstep.

“Played in Scotland for ‘Rangers Football Club’”…. none of the other teams he played for get the full ‘Sunday name’ treatment in his CV – is he subtly distancing himself from the post 2012 shitshow with that?
