SFA spit out the dummy over VAR decision

After a year of silence over their own VAR decisions the SFA are demanding an explanation from UEFA following last night’s 2-0 defeat from Spain.

Celtic fans have looked on at the weekly mystery delivered by Willie Collum, Don Robertson, Alan Muir, John Beaton and friends with nothing forthcoming from the SFA.

While television viewers of UEFA matches quickly get detailed 3D images of offside decisions in Scotland you get a jaggy line drawn with a felt tip pen.

On Matchday 1 of VAR at Tynecastle a late ‘goal’ from Liel Abada was disallowed for offside, no image has ever surfaced to justify the decision.

A free kick from Scott McTominay was disallowed last night following a VAR check, after a media outcry the SFA have been pushed into action with BBC Scotland reporting:

The Scottish FA is writing to Uefa seeking clarification on Scotland’s disallowed goal in a 2-0 loss to Spain.

Scott McTominay thought he had given the visitors the lead with a stunning free-kick in Seville.

However, it was ruled out by Dutch referee Serdar Gozubuyuk after a video assistant referee (VAR) check.

The on-screen verdict inside the stadium was for a foul on goalkeeper Unai Simon but it was then attributed to offside against Jack Hendry.

The Scotland defender was deemed to be interfering with play due to his proximity to Simon.

Last Saturday against Kilmarnock Greg Taylor was wrestled to the ground in the build up to Kilmarnock’s goal, VAR allowed the goal to stand.

In September’s Glasgow Derby Kyogo Furuhashi was thrown to the ground after Jack Butland and Connor Goldson raised their arms to their opponent, no VAR review was made.

Jesus – You couldn’t mark their necks with a blow torch !

Absolute rank hypocrisy of the highest order…

I still think Scotland will qualify (But if this decision cost them how sick would these utter chancers be) –

I want (I think) for Scotland to qualify for ma friends, family and neighbours and all that, but there’s that bit knawing away at me that makes me feel pure sick at the thought of Maxwell, Petrie and his Sevco cohorts at The SFA riding on that Germany 2024 gravy train…

If Scotland make it then congratulations to Stevie Clarke and his players… (it’ll sicken a lot of Sevco fans)

But if they don’t on this decision then I’ll laugh and laugh and laugh at all in The SFA while feeling commiserations for Stevie and all the decent Scotland fans…

A win win situation then !

Don’t fret . The BBC in Scotland are on the case . They will wheel out Archie Mac Pherson to deliver the whole rule book to us verbatim ….then as back up there will be Professor Sir John Curtice giving us the politics of it all . Just don’t ask Beaton or Robertson to explain the palaver . They have not got clue number one !

  • Tony B says:

Karma indeed. These fvckwits just don’t do irony do they?

When UEFA competitions become as corrupt as those in Scotland then the game is indeed a bogey.

  • Redmond says:

Oh the irony… that these guys don’t do irony (or self awareness, reflection, sporting integrity, fairness or legality) is ironic! Where are these fckuwits the rest of the season in calling this sh#t out when all fairness, reality and reason is warped just to suit the orcs? Get it right fckuin up the lot of them!

  • Bob (original) says:

    Ha!

Those blazered tw@ts at Hampden are a funny lot.

    I have a transcript of Maxwell’s letter of complain, as follows;

    “Dear Youayefa,

wit happened with Scotty’s goal? It wiz a cracker, so it wiz.

Yer ref was rubbish. We have pure dead brilliant refs in Scotland,

    so yous should use them!

Ah want that goal back, and someone told me that Jurgen Klopp asked for

a replay the other day, so ah want that Spain game replayed as well.

    Orrabest,

    Big Al
    Scotland cheef”

    🙂
