Brendan Rodgers has named the same side for the third match running for the Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.

After losing their first two matches the hoops must take something from tonight’s match to retain hopes of remaining in Europe beyond Christmas.

Kyogo Furuhashi scored at home to Lazio on Matchday 2 with the former Vissel Kobe man carrying the main goal threat tonight.

Rodgers was widely expected to stick with the same side, on the bench Gus Lagerbielke returns after being suspended but there is no place for Odin Thiago Holm, after scoring last week for Ireland there is a place for Mikey Johnston.

Tonight’s match officials are from Germany, the two sides meet again in Madrid on November 7.

At half-time in the other Group E match Feyenoord were leading Lazio 2-0.

    Another CL night…another night of nail biting…Will we take anything from the game?…My heart says yes…my head says otherwise…The gulf between CL clubs and SPFL clubs is huge…and that doesn’t help us in our quest…I can only hope that the team proves me wrong tonight…MON THE HOOPS.
