Celtic’s u-19 side lost 2-0 to Atletico Madrid at the City Stadium (Lesser Hampden) this afternoon.
The defeat leaves the young Celts with just one point from three matches ahead of trips to Atletico Madrid and Lazio.
Bridging the gap between playing in the Lowland League to facing elite opponents is a tough task but on Matchday 2 Celtic equalised late on to take a point from Lazio.
Munoz opened the scoring for the visitors in the 38th minute when he scored with a header with the second goal in the 82nd minute from Rayane killing off any hopes for the home team.
These results are inevitably described as learning exercises, when the group matches are completed the best solution for the young Celts is to get out on loan to SPFL Championship clubs rather than continuing with the Lowland League fixtures.
Celtic B have home matches against Linlithgow Rose and Edinburgh University before the return match with Atletico on November 7.

The B team should be playing in league 2 with promotion to the championship possible. Shocking that the club allows the young Celts to play at such a low level. It shows that the board and thd SFA don’t give a damn about player development.
