Davis has never managed a team at any level, even Steven Gerrard had been in charge of the Liverpool u-18 side before moving to Ibrox.
Rae has had two spectacularly unsuccessful spells managing Dundee and St Mirren in the second tier of Scottish football.
How Beale’s summer signings take to the new management team is anyone’s guess, what they make of Rae’s old school coaching would make for a great Netflix series.

I have said it before, I think Robinson, as someone used to working with minimal funds and fashioning a hard to beat unit out of equine livestock, would likely be a better option than any of the other jokers quoted as ‘favourites’, but they’re probably wary of how his accent would be received by the knuckledraggers. Maybe that is Davis’ utility function – to see how the worst elements of the Klan cope with an Irish accent on their manager?

I imagine the whole thing is designed to run like this:
1) No one we sounded out told us they wanted near the job/toxic club, once they stopped laughing.
2) If we can’t get anyone with even a modicum of talent, we need to go full throttle staunch.
3) What’s the cheapest and staunchest solution we can dredge up from inhouse/the dole queue?
4) Fans don’t want another rookie/experiment, so we tell them these two are just an “interim” solution, but that we will take our time to get the best available in as the next permanent manager.
5) We have no money after paying millions for duds and paying off this clown – we probably can’t afford even a McInnes or a Robinson and Martindale’s jail time might make a few European away ties difficult and even more embarrassing.
6) Hunker down, pray the caretakers get a few results and earn some extra staunch points along the way (it’s poppy porn season, so that should be easy) – oh and hope for some bad news/results for Celtic.
7) Wait for a win against Hearts, Hibs, or Aberdeen, or for the Dream Team to at least get to the league cup final, and say they deserve a chance at the job on a permanent basis.
I don’t know much about Davis, actually for a Sevco supporting Hun from the six occupied counties, he seems to very sane which is unusual…
But Rae… There is not a snowballs chance in hell that these new duds will take to his lunatic rantings –
They will run their contracts down or be punted for washers…
Ah well lots more money that Sevco doesn’t have goes down the drain !
