Sky Sports tried to play it down but the Internet Bampots aren’t easily fooled.

Apart from Chris Sutton pushing Kris Boyd to the verge of a breakdown there was one major talking point to come out of Sunday’s SPFL clash in Paisley.

Early in the first half John Souttar was under minimal pressure from Conor McMenamin as the ball rolled towards the corner flag.

The Scotland star recently suffered the embarrassment of being dropped for Ben Davies and was back in the team for the first time since the September 3 defeat from Celtic.

For no apparent reason Souttar decided to collapse, going down with the grace of a baby giraffe without any hint of contact. Even Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent would manufacture contact before falling over and appealing for a penalty.

Nick Walsh duly awarded a free-kick, today the SFA referee is back at the day job of working on the fitness of Murray Park starlets at Boclair High School.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

They have previous at this do Sevco (although the incident I’m gonna flag up involved Rangers as they were known as then)…

Didn’t Sclafferty (Kyle Lafferty) crumple to the ground a in a match v Celtic at Liebrox for no reason whatsoever but the nearest Celtic player got sent off (it was either Thompson or Lennon) and that after dinner referee Stuart Dougal still brags about it to this day at Sevco after dinner speeches !

  • Zeddy says:

Surely that takes the standard of refereeing to a new level or greatness. Come on !!!!
