Joe O’Rourke has urged Michael Nicholson to demand answers from the SFA about Saturday’s match away to Ross County.

The hoops won 3-0 to go eight points clear at the top of the SPFL but it was David Munro and Andrew Dallas that dominated the post match discussions among fans.

During the first half two Celtic ‘goals’ were disallowed on the flimsiest of evidence while two clear shirt pulls in the penalty box were shown by Sky Sports but unpunished by VAR.

O’Rourke is the head of the Celtic Supporters Association which holds fairly regular meetings with Nicholson, earlier this season he urged the club to reject tickets for Ibrox unless it was for 5% of the stadium capacity.

Refereeing issues are an ongoing concern for Celtic fans, writing on the Celtic Supporters Association website O’Rourke asks:

Big Malky’s job became almost impossible when James Brown was red carded in under ten minutes, and having seen the pictures and video replay’s, why did referee David Munro think it was only a yellow card?

I think we all know the answer to that, I remember the penalty he gave against Matt O’Riley, the guy is a “Blatant Cheat” but the Biggest Cheat of them all, is the Head of Referees, Crawford Allan.

The best time to complain is when you win, so Celtic should be onto Mr Allan first thing this morning, asking for explanations about two disallowed goals, about at least a couple of penalty challenges on Celtic players, and about the general performance of David Munro.

As ever under Nicholson it seems that quietly accepting whatever obstacles are thrown in the club’s way is the policy he is most comfortable with.

I think you can tell by just looking at him that Michael Nicholson is a “man to be reckoned with) (sic).
Or for the pedants ” a man with which to be recockoned ”

I am afraid he will continue to do nothing.

They say “”A picture is worth a thousand words” and the the photo at the top seems to sum it up for me.

Time for the support to make its feelings clear…??….A few wee banners expressing disgust …might not go amiss…Our Club has been TOO QUIET for TOO LONG.

  • John A says:

He will have to ask his boss Lawell first and we all know what his answer will be, let’s just move on!

  • FSTB says:

The officiating in our game on Saturday was about the worst I’ve witnessed this season .
Maybe a club needs guaranteed CL cash by the end of the season .
Add to that officiating the smile and nod to the sevco manger from the 4th official when their 2nd goal went in and it looks as though they couldn’t give a damn what the rest of Scottish football fans think anymore

  • Charlie Green says:

As a pedant, I would like to say that “reckoned is spelled incorrectly”

  • Bob (original) says:

NIcholson and the Board’s behaviour has been unacceptable for too long,

with regards to their continued silence about poor match officiating and VAR.

The paying customers are disappointed with the Board’s lack of communication

with the SFA, The Scottish Referees’ Association – and with the support.

IF the Board doesn’t speak up about before the game tomorrow,

    to address supporters’ reasonable complaints,

then the Board should have access to the Boardroom and to the Stadiums,

[for both home and away games], withdrawn for an indeterminate period?

    What’s good for the goose… 🙂

I here’s an idea (if legal). The club should hold a sweep for charity which involves guessing the time of the TavPen to say within a 5 minute leeway. The winner wins £1000. The remainder goes to charity.. Tickets could be sold on line.. Can you imagine the world view.
It could also include guessing the time of the first Celtic disallowed goal.
The big prize could be a great earner for charity as punters are invited to guess the month when Sevco are awarded a penalty against them.
All good fun but making a serious point.
Maybe a supporters group could take it up. Clubs are allowed to run sweeps I believe.
Maybe even this august publication, “Video Celts” could initiate it.

    • Charlie Green says:

Of course, if a thousand picked the right time slot, a winner is picked from a ” virtual hat”.

£1 a ticket and all for charity. e.g. food banks?

look the referees and officials are taking the p!zz altogether now growing more braze and blatant by the day, they know there is no accountability , in all walks of life there is and has to be accountability , a club gone 3seasons and 3 managers without conceding a penalty is more than a joke , it a bit latr in the day for O’ Rourke getting his finger out by allowing the rot go unpunished for so long

  • Amcq14 says:

Might as well hit your head off a brick wall. This board are only interested in lining their own pockets. How many times have we heard the excuse that we’re working on it in the background can anyone tell me the outcome of these behind the scenes negotiations. No, because they didn’t happen, it’s basically the case of tell them anything just to shut them up. The only one who took them( the SFA) to task was the bunnet. Maybe it’s time to start protests against this board and get those in that are willing to stand up for our club and support.

  • Scud Missile says:

As I said before you get what you pay for nickel&dime money in a nickel&dime league with nickel&dime officials in charge of our games that are not good enough to be selected for European Championships or World Cup competitions, that’s your answer right there.

Hence why Sky offer washers for a TV deal,in some of those SPFL games when seeing those highlights from other grounds,I have seen more people standing in a queue for a taxi than what is in those stadiums.

So as I said we get what we pay for,as for Michael Nicholson we would be as well asking Jack Nicholson for all the good he does.

We would have a better chance of seeing the Invisible man or Lord Lucan or even Shergar than seeing Nicholson speaking out about those weekly so called HONEST MISTAKES going against us and ither clubs but going in favour sevco each game or each week.

  • Daniel Cullen says:

As usual. The board will do nothing to protect our club, they will sit quietly and hope the dust sttles again. The only protection the board are up for are their fat Dividends. They won’t spend money on quality player or support the manager with his own selection of players and now divide the supporters.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Decent words by Joe O’Rourke but probably while well intentioned he’ll just be pissing in the wind…

Scotland is a joke of a football country –

I suppose The Highland League is honest enough all the same…

It’s only a matter of time till they cost Celtic vital points in The League –

Trust me it’s gonna happen and soon – but we know it in advance anyway !

  • Paul taggart says:

What exactly has any celtic board ever done about this and now yous want to complain must be an agm coming up did liewell tell yous to print this pish
