The Green Brigade has responded to Celtic’s decision to suspend their Season Tickets, starting with tonight’s match at home to St Mirren.

Yesterday afternoon 200 fans were emailed about the decision, quickly followed by the club briefing their favourite media messengers about a string of allegations.

It seems that no effort was made to verify these so-called incidents, despite the seriousness of some there has been no reports of arrests or police action.

The Green Brigade are convinced that the ticket suspension is related to their support for Palestine rather than the six alleged incidents that were relayed last night.

After some allegations the Green Brigade had their away match tickets suspended for the matches against Hearts and Hibs but appear to be to blame for troubles outside of Easter Road on Saturday.

Celtic seem to have investigated that incident very quickly and identified the Green Brigade as the culprits.

There has been no official word from Celtic on their website or social media platforms but a number of websites carried very detailed accounts of the incidents that brought about the suspension of Season Tickets.

They know the rules and have had CELTIC fined on several occasions but continually break them again and again. I love the atmosphere they create at games but why do they have to persist with with their political agenda which other supporters may or may not agree with, its a game of football not a political rally.

May or may not agree with … but you do have to respect their position and their right to hold their views. So, wheesht!

There is ample justification for banning the Green Brigade permanently from all Celtic matches, even if that group had never raised a single political banner – the regular use of pyrotechnics, the GB’s having reneged on past agreements with the Club and the constant glorification of the IRA (whose role in Irish history is more ambiguous than the GB would have us believe) would all justify a ban, even without the other behaviour alleged. The good that the GB does in terms of collecting for food banks doesn’t remotely outweigh the bad. It’s time to face up to the truth: the GB IS NOT a fans organisation as properly understood – it has its an agenda which is inimical to Celtic and it has latched on to Celtic to promote its own ends. Enough is enough!

    Couple of puzzling thoughts;

    – If I hear something about the club, I automatically go to the club website to check

if it is true / to get confirmation, or not. Why does the Board’s decision to ban

hundreds of ST holders not appear on the club’s website, or other official, social nedia?

    – In the context of the alleged, real reasons behind this ban, the term,

    “Collective Punishment” seems ironically apt.

This unfait / unjust approach – for whatever claims of “unacceptable behaviour”

as defined by the Board – is just not the Celtic way?

But, this should all have been dealt with in-house.

The Board is choosing to wash its dirty linen in public,

and the SMSM will be lapping it all up with glee! 🙁

The Board is being heavy-handed here. The worst the GB do, in my opinion, is to use flares which may cause serious injury. But no cases of this has been recorded.
If the GB break the law, then they should be dealt with – by the law. But that isn’t the case.
So, like Bob(original), I agree it is the Board who are bringing the Club into disrepute!
The Celtic Board are well over and above their remit here.
They should remember that they are custodians of the Club.
    No-one owns Celtic FC!
