Green Brigade lay out plan for their Day of Action

The Green Brigade has announced their intention to ‘Welcome the team’ before Saturday’s match at home to Motherwell.

In most circumstances that sort of action would be welcomed but at Celtic things are a bit different with the Green Brigade currently suspended by the club.

Over the last month the situation has deteriorated from a ban on away tickets to having Season Tickets suspended for the last two matches.

Celtic recently sent out an email to all Season Ticket holders listing a number of incidents blamed on the Green Brigade which has been countered by various social media releases from the Ultras group.

The ‘Welcome the Team’ plan is bound to attract some other fans to back the Green Brigade, what happens once the players and management go inside the stadium will be a concern for the Celtic board and Police Scotland.

Individual match tickets could have been bought for the match but the Green Brigade won’t be able to congregate together with the stand off looking more likely to escalate rather than be resolved.

  • Thomas Davidson says:

This demonstration is nothing more than a despicable stunt, designed to draw attention away from the Green Brigade’s failings, which have led to yet another fine from UEFA. What is worse, the demonstration is to take place on the same day that The Celtic Foundation is having its Christmas collection around the stadium, and the Green Brigade must have known about that weeks ago. The Green Brigade doesn’t exist for Celtic: it exists to promote its own ideology, and is using the club and ordinary fans to that end. The Green Brigade should stay away from Celtic Park, not just tomorrow but forever.

It would be much better then if those inside the ground made some noise instead of sitting like stuffed dummies and stayed til the final whistle instead of at 80 minutes. Ground is turning into a morgue.

      Demonstration?

The fact that you consider welcoming the team as being a Demonstration says a.lot about you.

I’m now pretty sure you are a hunposter

  • John A says:

It will be obvious which fans are Green Brigade members inside the ground. They will be the ones singing supporting the team not the ones sitting silent and leaving on 80 minutes.

It’s good to have passionate fans.

The problem for the non-resolution, and this very public, internal spat,

sits squarely with PL and the Board.

They are handsomely paid to run the club in a professional manner.

The Board has proven, yet again, that it is unable to manage properly.

We have the cash: if they can’t do it, then bring in proper, professional advice.

The Board – of a plc business – is actually publicly fighting with its paying customers!

    Mental.

This standoff has rolled on for far too long: it only harms our club.

The GB should stay away permanently.
A Football Stadium is for watching Football its not an an arena for Political demonstrations.
The GB has burned whatever kudos they earned for their Charitable Work.
It’s not a free pass to air ideologies Left or Right.
Celtic is a broad Church open to all who believe in tolerance, mutual respect and obeying the ‘House’ rules.
If they want to demonstrate, do it on the street, in a public park or at Political venues.
They can also ditch the ‘ no pyro, no party’ nonsense. It’s unsafe and illegal. No discussion. Illegal.
If they want a party then they should go to a rave. See how far they get with their ‘no pyro no party’ there.
Unless and until they grow up the ban should stay in place.

  • Marky says:

I understand the PLC have issues with The GB & they are within their rights to chastise them for alleged unruly behaviour to stewards, SLO, opening Emergency Exits etc but imo they need to rise above this now. They’ve made their point, keeping this going makes them look petty & spiteful. The atmosphere has been SHiiiite without The GB & Celtic Bhoys backing the team so MN, PL& DD need to put the club & team before their point scoring against The GB & Celtic Bhoys! HH! ????

Editor: For all the list of ‘crimes’ it seems that the Board won’t take action against individuals but is happier suspending everyone in the Green Brigade.
