There was one dodgy decision at Celtic Park last night that can’t be blamed on John Beaton.
After a tough day at Boclair High School in Bearsden helping develop the fitness of the Murray Park starlets Nick Walsh found himself on VAR duty, apparently covering the Celtic v St Mirren match.
While Beaton excused all sorts of time wasting from the visitors and awarded a procession of free kicks for non-existent contact his buddy Walsh had the luxury of re-runs of all of the key incidents, like when you see a player lying flat out in the penalty box.
While Beaton followed the ball Mikael Mandron decided to check Kyogo Furuhashi then push his hands at the striker’s throat to ensure that he wasn’t getting a run towards the goalmouth.

Either Walsh decided not to look at the incident or decided that the contact didn’t warrant a penalty and a red card for the St Mirren substitute.
On Sunday Walsh will be in charge of Hearts’ Viaplay Cup semi-final at Hampden, only a complete fool would think of putting a bet on the Edinburgh side winning that match.
Seen Kyogo down for that and thought he copped an elbow. Crazy it wasn’t looked at.

Our game is bent beyond belief.nothing will change until we get referees or at the very least outsiders in charge of the VAR.
Every referee in the top league is from the Glasgow Area, how can that be fair.— The Buzz bomb (@gamesupthepole_) November 2, 2023
100% the rangers were getting that, Beaton wouldn’t have hesitated going to the screen.. absolute inept referee

If VAR has a function, it’s to spot fouls like that. Linesman must have seen that too? It spotted a shirt pull at Ibrox last weekend but not that?

Funny that VAR didn’t pick that up given how eagle eyed they are on contact in the box.

The problem is that there are loads of pushes, pulls and other incidents which you could say are fouls. In the past they were ignored / missed which was fine because every team were in the same boat. Now you have VAR which can be used to highlight those incidents IF they want to.

There’s a difference between our Referees being ” inept “…and being corrupt.
Its the only conclusion you can come to, when you see incidents like this.
But why Scottish Clubs in general, and ours in particular , don’t demand explanations for certain “strange” outcomes…then Scottish football will continue to get what it deserves.
Simple !!
Biz as usual, nuthing to see here,, itl even its self out over the season,, there’s a little known ifab rule that not a lot of people have heard about!!!!! Wtf it’s a pen,,
Lol and still 60,000 will show up for the next wrestling rigged match opps sorry rigged football game.
As I said before the board are not blame here, they are laughing all the way to the bank with Champions League money and season books money, it’s our own support showing up every week buying into a rigged game but then crying wolf when the shit hits the fan, no pun intended there.
The biggest dodgy decision was the appointment of Head of Refereeing.
What are you talking about?
Its about time the celtic fans took banners to the games and let these rats that run our game know that we have had enough of the cheating by their officials if its not sorted then some ref its gonnae get it thats what will happen before anything really happens a ref will get injured..
The Green Brigade could help out on this one big time …..let me explain ! They could pay for a huge written advertisement in the Daily Record telling the whole world how they regard the game and officialdom in this country to be corrupt beyond belief . Yes , it will be costly ,but I’m sure they would get the dough to pay for the piece somehow . Not only that the rag Record would be duty bound to accept the notice as it would be paid advertising . There would be 2 ways to win here …exposing the corruption and shafting the Record simultaneously .I wish I would have thought of that , arf !
Go back to Ibrokes! Got it?
