Celtic crack down on fan-media by handing out ban

Four Tims and a Podcast have been banned from a place on the rota to attend Celtic media conferences, the move is highly unlikely to impact on their popularity.

It seems that some criticism of the club Chairman has upset sensitivities with a phone call informing Four Tims that they have been expelled from the club’s media tent.

Since Dom McKay decided to acknowledge the growing popularity and influence of fan media there as been a strained relationship with the analogue club in the digital age.

Lumping vastly different fan media outlets into one pot and feigning an interest has been a struggle for the club who find it much easier to deal with their long term media partners even as their influence falls off a cliff.

While old media attends conferences looking for their sound-bites there are a few fan media sites looking beneath the froth to address genuine issues, Ange Postecoglou seemed to appreciate the freshness of their coverage.

The club is just a bit of a mess just now, the atmosphere at home games as we’ve discussed is really embarrassing. We’ve been out-sang by 400 Motherwell fans and 700 Hibs fans in the last two games.

The board are still fighting with the Green Brigade, I think Danny touched on it in the last one (podcast) that we are banned from Press Conferences which is fine, it’s not really a big deal but, why they are focussed on garbage like us, fighting with fans when they really should be backing the manager and coming up with a plan to get us rolling again. But no, it’s a far cry from the Treble team of last season.

Clearly the team don’t take themselves too seriously, laughing at the club cracking down on their own ‘garbage’. The more garbage the better served supporters are.

Things can be sweetness and light when the going is good, the results and trophies arrive and fans are positive on social media about the impact of new signings.

Over recent times fan-media has been marginalised by the club, mainly given access to an interpreter to ask new signings if Celtic are a big club and if they are looking forward to the big European nights under the lights at Celtic Park. Even coverage of the Woman’s team and a fantastic communicator like Fran Alonso is out of bounds.

With so many problems over results, recruitment, lack of form and the club cracking down on the Green Brigade things have become much tougher for fan-media outlets.

If sevco win the League this year then everything in the garden is rosy for someone!
If our game in Scotland was totally and utterly corrupt, then I could see that as being a very realistic scenario!
Come to think of it, what are the odds on sevco winning the … ?

As much as it pains me to say : Celtic wont win the league this season .

With 72 million sitting in the bank, why should we not win the League this season?

      • Brian says:

Exactly that!! It’s in the bank. With most of our Asian players away on international duty , thing may just get worse if we don’t already know who we are looking to bring in. P. S. Possible £60 million pounds for champions league next season. If we don’t win the league, we are in trouble.

A vote of No Confidence in the Board by shareholders may be a way forward.
We were all convinced to part with £100 to become shareholders under Fergus.
There must be plenty of supporters who are concerned about the way our Club is being run.
Any Corporate Lawyers out there who can help!?

There will be no sevco fans inside Parkhead at the end of this month, and our fans will still be out sung.
There has been more life in a tramps jacket or a funeral parlour than in our stadium the last number of games.

Look no further than PL the control freak, becoming our old board the longer in post, nepotism rife and thinking they’re more important than the team and supporters
