The Daily Record has named three Ibrox stars that are available to go out on loan in January.
Truth is any sort of offers, loan or permanent moves are likely to be very welcome by a club that can’t turn over a profit while playing in the Champions League and raking in over £20m for Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo.
Micky Beale left behind a seven point gap to Celtic, as importantly Philippe Clement inherited a bloated squad of mediocre talent sitting on lucrative, long term contracts.
After playing a key role in last season’s record breaking Champions League campaign Leon King hasn’t played a single minute this season.
Now the Record is reporting:
King played a lot of football last season and in a number of Champions League games. If a loan was to aid his development then Rangers would consider the move. The problem for him is Connor Goldson and Leon Balogun have cemented the centre-half pairings and Dijon Sterling and John Souttar are behind them. There are a number of Rangers players, like Kieran Dowell and Ridvan Yilmaz, who are also struggling for game time and could also look at potential January moves.
Rangers chairman John Bennett said at the AGM this week there will be money for Clement to strengthen his squad.
Bennett said that Beale’s pay off won’t affect the January budget, which was probably washers after the way money was blown in the summer on transfer fees and long term contracts.
Dowell is under contract until May 2026 with Yilmaz having an extra year following his £5m move from Besiktas.
Kemar Roofe, John Lundstram, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack, Leon Balogun and Jon McLaughlin are all out of contract at the end of this season.
Loving the turmoil over there…Long may it continue…
Comedy Gold right enough,Bennett tells the AGM he needs to find £10 million in cuts but at the same time puts it out there that there is a transfer budget for January,he just didn’t confirm what January is it 2024 or 2025.
Lest the foaming bears forget:
the blame for the impoverished sevco squad, stuffed with expensive duds,
sits squarely with Bennett & Bisgrove.
Ross Wilson left in April.
Bennett & Bisgrove became Chairman & CEO respectively around that time.
THEY decided not to replace Wilson.
THEY decided that their rookie manager Beale could simply
double up as the Acting Sporting Director, and conduct all transfer business.
Everyone could see that Beale’s targets, [Damilo excepted], were rank:
their stats were easily accessible online, and those stats validated why
Beale’s targets were unwanted / unused by their own clubs.
Now, Clement has to try and sort out B & B’s executive incompetence.
However, he has no money to change the squad.
It’s simply a brilliant state of affairs at ibrox! 🙂
Here’s the thing….they can tell guys to find new clubs, but those contracted will remain unless their wage is cemented.
The out of contract guys go for free….so no new money for transfers.
Their wage bill is sky high compared to income, and they have no money, but plenty debt.
How can they continue to spend money they don’t have without breaching UEFA FSR….???
They also have an outstanding tax bill….
There’s court cases to be addressed….
Since they began life in 2012, they’ve made losses in the multi millions and bridged finances with confetti share issues and soft loans…
Surely these do not count as income…so why have the football authorities in Scotland and uefa not intervened ?
During the cheating years of under the table payments and tax dodging, as well as failing to pay creditors, they gained an unfair advantage by fieling players they couldn’t afford.
This new ibrox club is doing the exact same.
I bet my bottom dollar that Al Capone wishes he had the mordor clubs accountants…..he wouldn’t have ended up in alcatraz
Editor: No one in Scottish football wants to bring in Financial Fair Play or Sustainability rules, they know the consequences and the only club that would suffer.
There’s always ‘something rotten in the state of’ Sevco and its predecessor at Ibrox.
As well as football’s governing shower, who are all as bent as they come, there is also the FCA and potential Money Laundering. Any loans and share purchases should be scrutinised right back to exactly where any money came from as any company plying its trade from Ibrox has a serious history of cheating in any manner it can. Anyone with a background in Financial Services has to know about Money Laundering and hence how to bypass checks. Hmmmm, ‘something is rotten………….’
The new huns also got a Government (Covid) loan on outrageous terms regarding, I think, zero interest and over a ridiculous period of time which is covered unwittingly by all the Scottish people, not just ‘ra peepil’.
Where there’s muck there’s Sevco!
I’m assured that our Club is forensically checking all these financial anomalies …with a view to Legal proceedings …Sorry ..my meds have just arrived.
The campaign to get Robson the sack before the final getting ramped up by Keith and co
