Next month Brendan Rodgers is looking to have his Celtic squad trimmed.

At the start of September 33 players made it into the first team picture at Lennoxtown, Daniel Kelly has yet to make his debut with James McCarthy posted missing.

Moving on players under contract isn’t an easy task, typical of that is the expected return of Yosuke Ideguchi from his loan at

The midfielder was ‘the other guy’ in January 2022 as Ange Postecoglou bolstered up his options with Daizen Maeda, Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate arriving, without them it is hard to imagine there being an SPFL title party at the end of the season.

Sadly for Ideguchi, on his only start away to Alloa he was the victim of a brutal challenge which restricted him to a handful of substitute appearances while the others made themselves must-picks for Postecoglou.

At the age of 27 Ideguchi has already had brief spells in Scotland, England and Belgium on his CV. He might feel that there is unfinished business for him in Europe or realise that the J-League is best suited to his style of play.

Celtic Club Doctor, should check Idegucchi’s bone density. He signed a 4 year contract
with Leeds United, broke a bone and played no games. I think he broke a bone in Japan as well. Maybe all this has been resolved.

With the thuggery that goes on in Scottish Football (And largely unpunished at that) The Celtic Club Doctor would do well to check the bone density of every new arrival…

And recommend to Brendan that he only goes with players with bones made more of rock than the glass a helluva lot of the current squad appear to have come with !

If fully fit, Gucci could do a job for us in the problem DM position, allowing Calmac to move further forward. On the other hand, Iwata also looks comfortable there. Competition between these two players for that position, can only benefit the team as a whole.

    Hail Hail.
