Celtic’s 13 match, two month dispute with the Green Brigade has been resolved with the issue of a one paragraph comment.

Following the win over Kilmarnock on October 7 Celtic issued a statement disassociating themselves from banners unfurled that day from the standing section of the stadium to kick off a series of actions which have coincided with an alarming drop in results.

First up the Green Brigade members were barred from receiving tickets for away matches as it was revealed that only 267 Season Ticket holders were in that group, at home matches they seem to have numbered at least 1,000.

The away ban covered Champions League ties at Atletico Madrid and Lazio although their banners were spotted at both grounds.

With UEFA matches ending on December 13 a compromise agreement to lift the suspension was expected but it wasn’t until last night that the North Curve Celtic Twitter account announced a pre-match Corteo that there was a breakthrough in the stand off.

This afternoon a Celtic spokesman told The Sun:

Following consultation with the group, the club has now implemented an updated Rail Seating Safety Code of Conduct which has been accepted by the group, allowing for a return to a situation where rules and regulations around operating safely are respected and complied with.

Last Saturday during the defeat from Hearts there were loud chants of Sack The Board from the fans with another chant aimed directly at Peter Lawwell.

No one knows what sort of agreement has been struck with the club but by definition an Ultras Group likes to operate on the edge rather than playing along strictly with club policies.
