Liel Abada has been pictured taking a full part in training at Lennoxtown today.

The winger last played at the start of September as Celtic won at Ibrox. Abada then reported for international duty but made an early return trip after picking up a muscle injury.

A December return was predicted, with one match left to be played Abada hasn’t made a matchday squad despite upbeat updates from Brendan Rodgers.

Starting Saturday’s match would be a massive risk but if he has taken part in training all week being named among the substitutes should be a realistic target for a fixture that he has excelled in since joining Celtic.

Being able to name nine subs and use five allows Brendan Rodgers to make a calculated risk with his squad, in recent weeks there hasn’t been many game changing options available on the bench as results have illustrated.

There are also injury issues relating to Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate to be addressed when Rodgers meets the broadcast media at lunchtime.

Abada could be a brilliant ‘impact sub’ if needed to turn the game around or just to hammer home an advantage – hopefully the latter!
