After impressing off the bench at St Johnstone on Sunday Mikey Johnston and Tomoki Iwata start their first matches of the season tonight against Hibs.

There is a third change to the side that angered Brendan Rodgers with Oh Hyeon-gyu replacing Kyogo Furuhashi in the centre of attack.

David Turnball and Kyogo drop to the bench but there is no place for Yang Hyun-jun with Marco Tilio listed as a substitute for the second time this season.

After the half-time turnaround at Perth Rodgers will be looking for a sharp start from his side tonight as they look to make up for a 0-0 draw away to Hibs earlier this season.

John Beaton will referee tonight’s match, his third Celtic game of the season on the back of the 3-0 win away to Livingston and 2-1 victory over St Mirren last month.

CELTIC: Hart; A Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor; McGregor, O’Riley, Iwata, Palma, Oh, Johnston

SUBS: Bain, Phillips, Kyogo, Turnbull, Holm, Tilio, Bernardo, Forrest, Ralston

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

I’ve got to say I’ve been a lot more tense this season than for some time and that’s just about every game but injuries have been much of it. The changes make reasonable sense to me with Oh due a start as Kyogo hasn’t been right since that sheep twat assaulted the side of his head and Iwata is due a start or two in his best position which he’s yet to get. It’ll let Captain Cal move further forward and we all know what HE can do. I’ve still major doubts about ‘Mikey’. He promises much but seldom delivers and I think he’s at make or break time with The Bhoys so, come on Mikey, stake your claim.
Come On You Bhoys In Green tonight (not the ones from Leith but I’ll happily let them come a distant 2nd!)
