A report from Iceland claims that Celtic are showing interest in signing international goalkeeper Hákon Valdimarsson.
The 22-year-old is on a long term contract with Swedish side Elfsborg after moving from Gota in July 2021 for just £50,000 but like Gus Lagerbielke it seems that Valdimarsson has grown too big for the Swedish side and is ready to move on.
With Joe Hart out of contract in May some big decisions will have to be made soon by Celtic over the goalkeeper position.
Neither Scott Bain or Ben Siegrist have been able to put pressure on Hart, Bain has made two appearances this season due to Hart being sent off while Siegrist hasn’t played in the SPFL since moving to Celtic.

With 4,000 followers on Twitter while tracking just 35 accounts the Dr Football Podcast seems to have developed a good reputation in what is effectively a football outpost.
At 22 Valdimarsson falls into the dreaded project category but with five full international caps he has a bit more credentials than most of Celtic’s summer signings.
Celtic do seem to be closing in on their first January signing with reports that Nicolas Kuhn has arrived in Glasgow to complete his move from Rapid Vienna.
